You’ve probably been asked this before, but why do you do a high-rep set on something explosive like High Pulls?
I did a couple sets of 5, then wanted to do an AMRAP. I stopped at 10 because they we’re getting ugly.
In strongman, there’s lots of 60 second AMRAPS with movements that can be considered explosive. If I can only be strong or fast for a double or triple, I’ll lose lots of events. If I can continue to throw things around even while fatigued, then hopefully I can continue to perform in competition at that 35-50 second mark instead of gassing out.
Good point. How long have you been competing in strongman? It’s something I’d like to try some time
1 competition, still about as beginner as it gets. 2nd coming up in February.
Good luck in advance

I haven’t talked much about it, but depression is a bish. Been struggling lately, need to get things back on track. Life seems much more positive when I adhere to a schedule.
Boring non-masculine tip: if you feel you may need it and you have access, counseling/therapy is wonderful. Treat your mental health as seriously as you would your physical health.
I absolutely agree. I also find medication helpful to an extend.
Get well bud. It affects a few people that are very close to me, scary stuff.
