Front Squat: Havenât tested recently. 385 beltless wasnât too rough, probably have at least 405 for a single in the tank. Probably needs some work.
Power clean: hit 285 for 4 a little while ago. No idea if 335 is there. 225x8 seems like it would be pretty easy, just need to try. Probably needs some work.
Clean and press: Done 155x10. This is probably the goal Iâm the farthest from. Cardio plus shoulder endurance would need to improve vastly.
Deadlift: havenât pulled over 5 any time recently. Bit 5 feels much easier now than it did when I pulled 6. Lol not really sure where Iâm at.
TBDL: pulled 600 for 8 maybe and RPE 8 after squatting. Might just have to throw it on the bar and see where I stand.
Dips: hit +248 for almost a triple, +98 for 20 after a bunch of other sets. Strongest Iâve been on dips, maybe good for 180x6 right now. Just a guess though.
Chins: multiple sets of +98x6 without too much fatigue. However, havenât done +135 for more than 5 reps ever. Might need some volume and practice unless the goal is too ambitious.
Lunges: did 295 for 12. Could probably suck it up and get through 275x30 if I donât have a time limit.
Mile time: Lol havent done any running this would hurt real bad.
Local non-sanctioned strongman competition on Saturday at my alum, which is 20 minutes from home. Took yesterday amd today off in case I can get in and go play.
I recently met a powerlifter at a strongman competition. He has squatted 300 kg, deadlifted 300 kg and bench pressed 215 kg, all raw in competition weighing less than 105 kg. That means he out squatted and deadlifted me by more than 100 kg and out benched me by more than 80 kg.
I equaled him in the log press and beat him by far in the farmerâs walk. I would say the statement is far from true.
Thank you sir. I havenât pushed chins and dips with lower reps/higher intensity for a while. Will be interesting to see if they turn out to be more than a parlor trick and have some carry over.
Thatâs only powerlifting though. If you have those big 3 numbers ON TOP OF working in, say, a lumber yard for work, AND are carrying, throwing, and picking up logs or whatever all day, youâre going to be a strong human being. My dad canât out deadlift or out squat me, but he could kick my ass or break my hand with a handshake any day of the week.
