Also, new gym has a reverse hyper, GHR, sled, prowler, axles, farmers walk handles, and a 200 lb medicine ball. Tears of joy are unrestrained.

Huge difference in how stones feel now that I’m not touching one for the first time in contest. Glad to now be able to train much more efficiently.

Curious about finding strongman competitions, is there a data base, or schedule of events that can be found? I seem to have a lot of luck finding past years activity calendar, ha.

@Despade The strongman corporation website has a calendar, as does the United States strongman website.

Was this your first time on a reverse hyper? How did you like it?

Yessir. Seemed like a good posterior chain warm-up/activation movement. Definitely a lot of blood in the low back, glutes, and higher portion of the hamstrings. I don’t have lower back issues, so we’ll see over time what kind of benefits it has.

7/24 easy upper

Bit of elbow pain, probably from doing log cleans and stones on back to back days. Did some faux body tempering with a 50 lb kettlebell. Loosened things up a bit.

Push press
Barx5
Barx3
95x3
135x3
185x3

Log press, clean first rep then press away
140x6
140x5 seemed real hard
140x6 much easier
140x6 also easier

Axle incline press
175 for 50 Total reps

Bottoms up kettlebell press SS/ 3 count eccentric pull up
35x6/6 for 10 rounds

I used to have low back issues and it cleared them up completely. Haven’t had them in about a year, but kept using the make shift rev hyper I make at the gym and love it. I always let my legs get pulled as far as possible around every 5 or 10 reps and it feels like my spine decompresses. GHR and rev hyper are definitely two of my favorite, so I’m excited to see what they do for you since you already deadlift a shit ton for your weight

7/25 turbo speed lower
Got this done under 20 minutes

Well, @Alpha told me I should change just about everything. I decided to take that as being called out and push today’s conditioning pretty hard. I set up a sandbag as a backstop of sorts, which seemed to work well to direct the stone back to me.

7/26 Stones, 56" bar, one motion
95x5
115x1
145x1
155x1
175x10 1 minute cap
175x10 1 minute cap
175x10 1 minute cap
175x10 1 minute cap
175x10 1 minute cap
175x22 no time cap. Want to diex7
I was screaming self-depreciating phrases from about rep 6 onwards with the AMRAP. I like training in an empty gym

Yup. A wounded gazelle

I can imagine that you feel like that today.

I’m incredibly sore about 3 inches above my Achilles on each leg. Borderline debilitating DOMS. Everything else is pretty normal/tolerable.

We have talked about your ability to recover from gruesome workouts before. I am still always shocked by how fast you seem to be recovering from some of the insane volume training that you are doing.
Would you consider that just be a product of training this way for a long time?

Almost everything I do is submaximal. Staying far from grinding or missing reps makes a huge difference in what I can handle.
Contrast baths/showers seem to help a bit as well.
