Attack in Fallujah

ptr, you are a model christian

two words: daisy cutters.

man what the fuck are we still doing in iraq… all the evidence george w had is turning out to be lies… no alqaeda links, no wmd, grossly exaggerated human rights record…

there is no clear war strategy… wat the fuck are our goals?

find and destroy weapons of mass destruction… nothing there… and even if we did find wmd, the fact that it took so long to find them means our intelligence was so incomplete and that we are fucking stupid for going to war based on incomplete intelligence

fight terrorism at it’s source?.. a shitload of people are dying left and right… everytime we do some sort of decapitation it seems the terrorist network grows bolder and is more resolved… look at what happened today… take down a semi-popular leader and his power grows tenfold

our deficits are fucking insane… the dollar is going to shit, gas is skyrocketing, opec is asking for euros… i dont know how anyone can ignore these abysmal conditions… these are MAJOR economic issues which are going to fuck us up in the long run…

i feel bad for all the families that have relatives coming home in body bags and buckets. how are they gonna justify the deaths?

and you know what… im tired of being labelled a liberal for saying the iraq war is fucking stupid… any level headed person, liberal or conservative, can clearly see that war is not going well

DA MAN. I guess in the way you put it makes absolute sense. But as you know the CIA has some pretty brutal methods of doing things, you definetely are not going to see any of that on the American news because of public image. The day before yesterday the showed a gun fight on CNN and as american soldiers killed an iraqui, they were cheering hard… I’d say that’s also pretty horrific in itself.

I’m glad also as some of you that this hasn’t turned into personal attacks. I thank you all for that, and the best thing I can personally learn from this is that if people want to be tolerant, then they can, and it just makes things so much better.
Peace.

Hey guys. I just recently learned that a close friend and neighbor of mine recently passed away a few days ago. He was a good man, and he also was a Vietnam veteran. My father told me about his wake and the pictures they had of him throughout his life (he was cremated,so that was all they had of him). He used to talk to me about what he did in 'Nam, and he told those stories with both pride and shame. Until his death, he was a widely ignored man who often went unnoticed among the rest of the commuity. At his wake, it was discovered that he had recieved three bronze stars and a Medal of Merit from the Republic of Vietnam; all of which he had never told anyone about, only his wife and son knew. This guy was a great man, and the world is now a duller, darker place without him. He was a soldier of the United States of America, who had witnessed humanity at it’s worst, and by God, he flew that American flag outside his house and on his car until the day that he died. Even though you never even knew this man, please remember him in your thoughts and if you may, your prayers. Also, please remember those brave fighting men who are over in hostile territory right now who are away from their families and sanctity of home, regardless if you agree with the war or not.

Thanks,

hey guess what, most iraqis hate the united states. most people in that region hate the united states.

everytime they kill an american, they celebrate and desacrate. why? for one they really hate us, and secondly they dont get to celebrate very often. i dont get why everyone is so shocked, this is what they do when they rarely get a feeling of victory.

and you say the united states never does this to the people they kill? what does it really matter? they are dead. look at the crimes and types of crimes committed within the u.s and during wars (oo vietnam for example) etc…

there’s good americans and good iraqis, and there are bad americans and bad iraqis… not every iraqi is doing this…

final point being: many human beings are completely psycho

You don’t seem to know much about history. First off there is no more war in Iraq. We won the war in a month and that was possibly the greatest military triumph in the history of war.

Currently we are in a police mode. Since the Iraqis have an infant and cowardly police force and an infant military, we are there to keep the peace and kill people who would disturb it. Police officers get killed every day here in america and there isn’t even a group here that are actively trying to wipe them out.

Nobody ever said this was going to be a casualty free endeavor. Actually I think the administration was quite clear that it would be a long hard slog. Personally I don’t really care why we went into Iraq, That issue is over and there is nothing any of us can do about it. We cannot go back and not go into Iraq. Now we have to focus on how we can make the best of the situation we are in. Pulling troops out now is not the best solution! Everyone agrees on that even John Kerry. (the socialist spanish party does not agree but they are socialist!) Why arent you complainig about us going into vietnam, that was a mistake too but guess what it’s over and done so is the Iraq war.

Another question, where the fuck is the UN? The noble, just, fair and all powerful? The fact that they disagreed with the war does not change the fact that the people of iraq would benefit with UN troops assisting us NOW. But the countries who opposed us are not going to lend a hand because it will help us in the process, which they will NEVER do.

And for those of you who don’t think that we are doing our do diligence on homeland security and the war on terror, you have no idea what we are doing. The media will not tell you any success stories. I know for a fact that on all US highways there are Powerful radiation detectors installed and operational. If someone is moving any form of nuclear device around this country they will get caught. They are also being installed in every port in the US. This is just one little peice of what we are doing behind the scenes, obviously the government doesn’t want this to be well known or the enemy may try to bypass the US highways and ports.

Lets stay positive, and work together.

iamnobody - I completely agree with your last point.

I agree with jamnobody’s statement to a certain point. Any loss of life is a tragedy, but desecrating the remains of a fallen combatant (or any one for that matter) is just wrong. In the past, the U.S. has done many wrong things. Operation Rolling Thunder which was in essence the indiscriminant bombing of any one in the area of attack; civillians or combatants comes to mind. When Hiroshima and Nagasaki were bombed with nuclear weapons, the majority of those killed or wounded were civillians. However, they all had one purpose in mind: to demoralize the enemy to the point where they give up. The intent was to bring a speedy end to the war so that American troops will be out of danger and the killing will stop. It’s a bad deal for the ones getting bombed, but its in America’s best interests. All throughout history this has been going on, and will continue until the end of mankind. This sucks, I know, but it’s a necessary evil. RLTW

vegita,

i dont know much about history. ok… whatever you say… the war? call it whatever you want, occupation… people are dying! that’s my point

yes the iraqis have a pretty shitty force… it’s a strong indication that this war/occupation is gonna past the june deadline.

Kill people who would disturb the peace? the problem with that is with each killing, we are futher polarizing iraq… and the ones who hate the US will have more reason to hate.

the fact that police are dying here is supposed lessen the significance of deaths in iraq?

everyone knows people die in war… and that’s a big reason why a shitload of people in the US did not want to go war…

so now “slog” implies slow… i remember when rumsfeld was quoting a dictionary and trying to convince everyone othewise

you dont care why we went there… but I DO. the issue is not over, if bush purposely misled, deceived, concocted, exaggerated, etc, then he SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNtABLE… the ends justify the means? i dont think so…

pulling out is not the best solution, i agree… maybe we should try hard to lobby the security council into doing more…maybe even apologize for lying to them… i dont see that happening

vietnam? yes that was a mistake… but why should i mention that?

i think money spent on homeland security is the best investment… we should taken the 200 billion in iraq and done more here… including missile defense.

i would really like a new administration sit down with other govts and get really objective about iraq…
