I’m down with the functional architecture, but I like old Cathedrals.
And, I like what she said in one of her interviews (paraphrase), “If you’re going to be a theist or an atheist, please reason it out for yourself, don’t just believe blindly because someone else holds that position.” I liked the fact that she had her “dogmas” but she was open minded and asked everyone to use their reason to come to their own conclusions. Although I can’t say I appreciated her dress.
So you have reasoned it out and come to the conclusion that you agree with everything the pope says?
Why would I have to agree with everything the Pope says?

I dunno. The timing for this is perfect, but as a fan of Rand’s work, I would hate to see it done anything short of perfectly. Judging from the trailer, the production and acting look modest at best. But I may be judging a book by its cover.
I agree. I’m an objectivist but find Rand’s fiction pretty dry. Movie looks like they had quite a budget which was spent on CGI and not on the actors.
I just wish the directors would MAKE THE ACTORS TALK LIKE PEOPLE TALK IN REAL LIFE! SOunds like they’re reading from a book and that DESTROYS movies.
I started reading Rand early, probably 12 or 13, and her writings played a large part in developing my thoughts on economics (but not aeasthitics) as well as my chosen profession.
That being said, the movie looks awful. Her dogmatic writing style won’t transfer to the screen well.
Check out The Fountainhead, with Gary Cooper as Roark if you haven’t already seen it.

I just got that impression. Found out otherwise.

I agree hundred percent with the teachings of the Magisterium (or as most people call it the Church), which includes some of what the Pope says, but if the Pope says that capitalism is the best economical philosophy (which he did) I don’t have to agree with him (even though I do). More extreme case, if the Pope says that the Denver Broncos are the best football team (when we know the Saints are) I don’t have to agree with him. Although I have to agree with the Magisterium on their doctrines and dogmas.
