ANYWAYS, as far as Arnold goes, his comment about the steroid legislation and law enforcement was brilliant. Do you think that any other politician has any fucking clue as to the concepts he is referring to? NO. They just say well we need more enforcement! Whereas Arnold brings it right to the point that it is an unwinnable battle. However, he can’t just say “Fuck steroid legislation.” As that wouldn’t get him many votes. My personal opinion is that athletes in competitive competition should be allowed to take moderate doctor supervised doses of relatively benign performance enhancers like stanozolol.
It’s a rare guy that can gain office by saying things that are not only against what the vast majority believes but is also beyond their understanding. How many of your neighbors even know what steroids are? My bet is none.
If he chose to say what he most likely believes he’d be swept aside like the porn actress that was running. If you are thought of as irrelevant, or worse yet dangerous or radical, you not only can’t get in office you can’t affect anyone that is. If you can’t have any effect how the hell are you going to change things? You can stand outside the city gates yelling but people will ignore you.

I agree with Steely there. First you have to get in.
However, now that he is in, it’ll be interesting to see what he can accomplish, and if he brings any sanity to the morons who are trying to get rid of something that they have no understanding of.

I agree with you that if you don’t say the things people want to hear then there’s no way you’ll get elected.
Unfortunately it seems when people get power they don’t act to change anything for the better. How many times have you seen someone come to power and then do a u-turn and do something that is better for the people and yet the majority don’t understand or accept? And then eventually once they understood the public would turn round and thank them for doing something which was for the greater good?
It would be nice if Arnold became president and then legalised AAS against ‘public’ opinion. But that isn’t going to happen. More than likely he will continue to tow the line to stay in office and only make reforms that don’t benefit anyone apart from his supporters.
Once politicians come to power they become even more the political animal. With more to lose, you take even less risks. And often the things that got them elected, that would make the difference are swept under the carpet to be forgotten. Or they make all the right noises but none of the moves.
As for Arnie ‘stance’ on roids how can he say “We in bodybuilding have been having this for years now, for the last 15 years. We’re testing the athletes to make sure they are not taking drugs.” When he knows its the most juiced game out there?

I’m neither conservative or liberal because I deal with an issue at a time. One thing that is fun to watch is people like NvrEnuff that can’t even generate a cogent argument lifting up their skirt to show the rest of us that some village is missing it’s idiot.

I do know some liberals though. A couple of them are M.D.s and a couple are Ph.D.s, and the rest vary from college grads to blue collar knuckle draggers such as myself. They are all capable of actual discussions without name calling, jumping off topic, and getting distracted by shiny things. I guess there is hope.
