Arm Wrestling Comp Conditioning

Ive got an armwrestling competition coming up soon. Anybody have any good ideas on tapering for strength and endurance? When to start the taper? I assume itd be much like prep for powerlifting competition.

Also, a big one in the sport is speed. I need lightning speed for the quick “Ready-GO”. Are there good ways to train the nervous system for explosive speed?
