So, I’ve read quite a few “articles” about the infamous “China Study” that supposedly find a huge correlation between casein protein (and supposedly all animal proteins, soy is ok though…) and cancer.
However I just found some of the details of the study for the first time. The articles I’ve read never really went into detail, but wikipedia of all places had some actual information.
So… The cancer that was “highly correlated” with casein, was only after exposing the rats to potent carcinigens. Yes, the casein caused more growth in the cancer cells. But isn’t that what we’re all looking for… growth?
So my take away. If you have cancer, maybe you don’t want to promote an anabolic growth state, as the cancer might also grow. But if you’re healthy and don’t have signs of cancer… seems like this article is just evidence that having a constant flow of amino acids really does cause a growth state.
I’m obviously not a doctor, if you get cancer and die don’t haunt me.
