APF Texas Cup 2008 Hurricane Relief
As most of you know, Hurricane Ike hammered the Texas coast and southeast Texas this past weekend. It left thousands without power and some even homeless or stranded all over Texas. Included in those affected by Hurricane Ike were the current APF Texas State Chairman, Mike McDaniel, and his family. They are doing fine and are starting the clean-up process. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them. Unfortunately, because of this, Mike was forced to cancel the APF Texas Cup and the Beaumont meet.
When Bad Attitude Gym found out about this, we contacted Mike McDaniel and Garry Frank to inquire how we could help. They gave us the green light to host a meet. So, the APF Texas Cup will still happen. Although, we are taking this on with short notice, we are confident that the guys and gals of Bad Attitude will do their very best to make this meet memorable.
Keeping in the spirit of the family that is powerlifting, Bad Attitude has decided to donate any proceeds from this meet to The American Red Cross/Disaster Relief Fund to help the victims of Hurricane Ike. There will be no spectator fee to enter into the meet, but we will be accepting donations to help our extended iron family down south, as well as other victims. The entry fees will go to cover the cost of the meet, but any money left over will be donated to the Red Cross as well. We would greatly appreciate any contributions that could be made on their behalf. A letter is available upon request for corporate contributions.

NOTE�?� Due to the short notice, this will be a single platform meet. Therefore, we cannot accommodate an unlimited number of lifters. We are allowing 55 lifters for this meet. Only complete entries (form and fee) will guarantee a spot on the limited roster. NO ENTRIES WILL BE ALLOWED ONCE THE LIFTER LIMIT HAS BEEN REACHED. This meet is expected to fill up quickly, and we cannot guarantee lifters a slot if they choose to delay sending in their entry or choose to register at weigh-in. Also, the responsibility lies with the lifter to confirm their slot.
We will be updating the roster daily on the APF Texas website. If the lifter limit is reached and you have already sent in your entry and payment, we will contact you to make arrangements to return your money. Please, make sure that the contact information on the entry form is correct and complete; otherwise we will have no means to contact you. Thank you for your cooperation.
