I've done it in the past and it was very effective. Overfeeding periods got pretty crazy, I ate a friend's blackberry pie by accident (lost that friend (wasn't a great friend though cause I made an apology pie)).
Nowadays I just PSMF on rest days as part of my carb cycling; no bouts of pie related insanity so far. If you can manage the PSMF for 5 days then the hedonistic weekends totally make up for it (if nobody floats a pie in front of your face not intending for you to consume all of it).
