Any Christian T-men here?

Well, the subject says it all I guess - I’m just curious  I am a Christian T-man myself, and yeah it can be hard sometimes (especially the waiting till marriage for sex) but I don’t think the two are exclusive like many try to portray. What does everyone think about this?

PS: I am not wanting a “religion is good” / “religion is bad” war here, just interested in the above questions :).

Accepted Christ at age 5, never looked back baby!

In fact, keep me in your prayers: I’m praying about and considering a future in direct ministry.

Lowell Wayne and Norcoss are believers as well.

Encouaging to see other Christian-T-Men. Makes for an interesting blend, eh?

Also, check out the thread above us.

In the words of Tristan to his brother Samuel (Legends of the Fall circa 1994)

“I’d recommend fucking”

Sniper I believe you can still be a devout Christian and have sex before you’re married. One of my good friends, Moses (no BS), was a churchgoer, and not just casually. He went all the time, prayed (or at least tried to pray) with me daily, didn’t drink, smoke, do drugs or anything of that sort. But he and his girlfriends, and he had a lot of them little full length sun dress wearing baptist girls chasing him, were fucking like rabbits. Dude got more tail than me (although the quality is suspect) that’s for sure.

And you know what? He’s going to heaven, I know it. Me? Well, I’m not so sure.

Brad: Very tempting but no deal. I feel that the bible is pretty clear about premarital sex. While your friend may in fact be a devout Christian in other ways, to me he is sinning sexually. Will he go to heaven? Probably so, because usually such people later in life realize that what they did in their younger days was a mistake and ask forgiveness for it.

Out of everything, lust is the thing I have the most trouble dealing with, and I came awfully close to giving in last year when a female friend of mine and I were talking a bit “hot” and she offered to come over and give me a blowjob - I was oh so close to accepting. Since then I have gotten somewhat stronger and try to keep from getting into such situations, but it is still a constant battle to keep “The Beast” in my pants :P.

Brad, your so wrong my friend. And your friend, if that’s what he believes, may God have mercy on him…

Revelation 3:16
So, because you are lukewarm?neither hot nor cold?I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

Matthew 15:19
For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.

1 Corinthians 5:11
But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.

1 Corinthians 6:9
Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders

1 Corinthians 6:13
The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

Ephesians 5:3
But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.

1 Thessalonians 4:3
It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality;

Hebrews 13:4
Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.

Jude 1:7
In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.

Those are just a few…

BTW, do the world favor. If you’ve never read the bible, do not go around telling others it says this or that. Be a man and say, I never read the thing. You may not sleep as well at night, but a least you will no longer be propagating perverse and incorrect beliefs.

Romans 1:16
I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes

Well, let me address the original question. I do not see any discrepancy at all between being a Christian and being a T-man. In fact, I don’t think anyone has ever said anything to that effect here, have they? I would be pretty sure that Chris and Tim and TC would not find any conflict.

After all, being a T-Man is all about making yourself a fine example of a good man, in health and morality. Couldn’t you say that same thing about being Christian?

The problem arises in that many people have many different views of “morality.” Just because you don’t enjoy sex doesn’t mean you can’t be a T-Man. It just so happens that many of the people here are somewhat hedonistic in their views of sex. They probably see it as a “gift” and enjoy it. (After all, God did build in the entire basis of attraction between men and women.) You might find that disturbing because it differs from your morality.

Before you get all upset because many T-Men are hedonistic, let me point out a few things. Although many T-men do enjoy sexual relations, a true T-Man does so with the utmost respect and responsibility. True T-men do not practice unsafe sex; true T-men use contraception; true T-men do not use or abuse women.

There is nothing that says you must be sexually active to be a T-Man. It’s your choice based upon your beliefs and chosen morality. If you choose not to, more power to you.

Not gonna get into the sex thing, I believe the Bible speaks for itself as stated above.

But will join the ranks that proclaim Jesus as Lord!

In faith,

I dont believe it is right but there are many cases of “sexual misconduct” in the bible. yes i am a believer. But i think most churches are a waste of time because of the man made traditions that just have to be so rigidly adhered to. I would rather read my bible on my own with my strongs concordance. Much more learning can occur in that way.

hey peeps! christain here! been one since as long as i can remember.
ok first of all i know that premarital sex is wrong but if you read the other post i’ve been there done that. specifically with my ex that i lived with in our own house. i know that we were sinning night and day. i know that i was forgivin when i asked forgiveness but i also know that in the end i will answer to everything. i sin every day but does that mean that i think that i’m going to hell? nope i know that i’m going to heaven. see if you think about it there is no way that we can be total devout christians in the eyes of the lord. i’m sorry it just can’t happend. no matter what you say or do you will sin every day. there is no greater sin then another. so when you say that you shun premarital sex does that mean that you shun cursing and lieing when we do it everyday. thats why JESUS died on the cross for our sins. to save our souls from damnation.
i would like to share with the t-nation a poem that i just love.

jesus is the living water
endless and boundless without border
freshly flowing every
washing all my sins away
cleansing and cleaning
thats the living waters meaning
the living water is jesus’s love
constant and boundless
comming down from above

i hope this poem has touched you like it has touched me.
god bless

Yes (raising hand) – Christian here. Spiritual leader of my house.

As for the sex before marriage thing, I cannot say that I’m innocent. However, in each case (and there’s only been two), they were my wife (2nd marriage, don’t start down that road).

I heard it explained very well this way: Adultery is sex with some else’s spouse. Now this Moses guy is having sex with some one who is not some one else’s spouse, so you’re interpreting that as not a sin. Well, let’s ask a question: Is he going to marry them? I’m sure the answer is “no” in all the cases, with the possible (remote) chance of ONE of them. So, then, these others might be married to some one else at some time? Most undoubtedly yes. So then they’d be… Let’s go back to the first sentence again.

Ok, so only the 2nd to last quote means anything about premarital sex. All the others talk about adultery and sex, but nothing premarital. I’m not saying put up more quotes, just an observation.

Right on Brothers! Glad to see other belivers here in the T-Nation. Brothers of Christ and of iron.

Jer. 33:3

Pooh, I completely respect your references, and understand how convicted people are about sex before marriage but I contend that “sexual immorality” or “sexually immoral” acts could be interpreted as those people who are pedofiles, or possibly homosexual. There was a lot of each going on at the time the bible was written.

If you don’t want to have sex until you’re married that’s awesome. Good for you. It takes a lot of discipline to do that. I just don’t see how waiting until marriage to have sex shows the Lord how devoted you are. However, pregnancy out of wedlock is another matter.

Take care,

I agree w/ Goldberg.I goto church most Sundays for I feel it is a good environment for my 6yr old girl. I also feel the way Goldberg does.I don’t have to listen to what “man” makes of the “man” written bible to believe. And most “pushers” make me sick! Don’t come to my house, stop me outside a store and spread whatever crap your pushing. I view you like I view the bum begging for money.

Here, as well. Although I’ve been an extremely horrible example of a Christian for the past year or so.

Although I claim to be a Christian, my actions haven’t claimed to it lately (which is something I’m working on).

Any specific denominations (not trying to start a debate, just to find out)?

You people always fail to realize that the Bible was written by human beings. Its other people telling you to not commit adultery, sexual immorality, murder and whatnot; everyone’s got their laws either to place control for the acquisition of money or through human experience and learning.

Brad and others:

when you accept Christ as Lord, you become one with Christ. He indwells within you. Thus, if you engage in premarital sexual acts, you defile the body of Christ with your own. It is obvious that sex outside of marriage is ‘abuse’ of the system of procreation, thus involving lust, yet another sin.

Besides, why not wed if you truly love the person, like you say you do? Then you could enjoy sex within a union. But you know why you do not? Because you like sex without obligation. Would Christ do this? I think not.

Just suck it up guys. It’s sin.

So, wait let me get this straight then (after reviewing the thread again).

You argue that premarital sex is not a form of sexual immorality?

That’s bold. I’ll leave you to think about that one.
