Another Football in Season Training Question

This question is based of of Wendler’s blog post 5/3/1 and Footbal

The basic premise is two days a week (Squat/Bench and Deadlift/OHP).
The post mentions 5’s Pro and some superset assitance work.

The question is should FSL still be done after the 5’s Pro or would this be too much volume while doing football practice and games?

Basically, looking how to balance weights while in season.


Based on the article, I don’t think there’s FSL work. Also, based on ‘a letter to my younger self’ (below), there’s no FSL work.

However. Jim used The Krypteia and Krypteia Redux (blog post) with his football team, both have FSL.

So, both could work great. Just be smart about it!
