Another Day at the Bar

#1301

Go for it !
Rooting for you to kill it.

#1302

Congratulations for the mock-meet.

#1303

Thank you, sir.

#1304

And thank you too, sir.

#1305

Feeling depleted today. I guess those maxes took more out of me than I thought.

#1306

I feel the same after my (much smaller) tests.

#1308

Max testing is max testing. I guess it’s always draining.

Incline BP

182.5 3x3

Pullups

Axle Bar Zercher Squat (DL onto knees)
115x3
165x3
205x3 (dbl overhand)
235x3(dbl overhand)
255x3 (mixed)
275x3 (mixed)

I should try some holds with this bar. I think it would over all improve my grip. I was surprised to be able to go as high as I did with double overhand.

45 degree Hyper-extensions(arms overhead)
BW 2x15

Curl bar curlz
105 3x5

Gym owner was moving stuff around in the gym prepping for painting. Couldn’t get to the trap bar as a result, so did zercher. I think I’ll keep them in, they do pretty much what GMs do. Had to jump in the middle of some other fellas workout on incline press. He already had weight on the bar so I just went with it. Start adding back weight on pullups once I can do 5x10 in good form.

Another day in the books. Nothing remarkable.

#1311

I think those routine training days add up to a lot of good value in time.

#1312

I agree. The most progress is made from a consistent string of unremarkable days, really

#1313

I’m screwing up my push presses by letting my heels come off the floor during the launch. That means I’m descending as I’m trying to push the bar up. Not stable and why the last rep and last set are harder. The bar stalls at that moment and then I have to get it started again rather than having a smooth push throughout. Push presses at less than my press max shouldn’t be harder than my press max.

Went in underfed today and really ran outta gas in the DLs and RDLs. Did what I could.

#1315

This job really gets in the way of training, I gotta say.

#1316

Those sandbags have me completely intimidated, after carrying them into the house from the car.

I come home from work on non-training days, look at them and think “No. Not tonight.”

This can’t continue.

Looking forward to squatting tonight. Good things are going to happen. I feel it.

#1317

Have you tried warming up your rotators beforehand? (Martins!!! reference LOL)

#1318

I know that feeling. I got some farmer walk handles about 5 years ago. They are still in great shape, almost new condition.

W/U 5 min

OHP
95x5
115x5
135x5
155 3x3
140x6

Shoulders still tired from last pressing session. Knocked it out though

SQ
135x5
195x5
235x5
265x3
295 3x3 (easy,+10 from last session)
260x5 (3-count pause at bottom)

Cable Seated Rows
175 3x8

Close Grip Bench
190 3x5 (+5, I’ve been struggling on this, but these popped)

Felt good tonight. Presses were a bit hard, but I wasn’t really straining on anything. Wel, the paused squats were a bit difficult. Had to make noises to stand up on the last two reps.

Sandbag (Gasper) pick and over the shoulder
100 x 10, 10, 4

This is very metabolic. I’m not adapted for metabolic. The 10’s laid me out each time, trying to catch my breath. Much respect to people who load hay bales on trucks.

Pullups
BW 8x7

Skipped training yesterday because sandbag the day before knocked me back a bit. Gonna have to start with less volume on those and titrate up over time. Plus I only got three hours of sleep.

And I don’t have to train if I don’t want to, besides.

Going in to train tonight, though.
