Felt good. SN Grip DL was back-solid even with no belt. Do need to keep the bar closer though. Really worked on splitting correctly on CJ tonight and it helps a lot getting under the bar. Not keeping the bar close enough on second pull so it’s going out front a bit, which is why I missed one. SNGDL tonight to rectify and maybe some hang doubles next time.
Wifey got me a one of those nicotine delivery devices - a vaper, I think their called. It’s still like smoking, but without the smoke, odor, receding gums and deleterious effects of smoke inhalation. No second-hand smoke and it works out to be cheaper overall. My lungs are perfusing better and the circulation in my extremities is better also.
The tobacco companies must be crapping themselves - this thing is apparently getting popular among smokers. All the pleasure and none of the downsides…so far.
It’s like the Simpsons episode where they came out with the nicotine patches, just slap one on and you don’t want a cigarette. One guy has 200 patches on him and cries “There’s gotta be room for another!”

edit:
The blocks: Gym has some rubber floor covering, about 4 inches thick, basically used for creating an outside lifting area. Dragged four of them inside to use as cleaning blocks. Very different feel than pulling from a hang. Back is sore in a different way today.
Was getting the high pulls pretty high. I’ll put in some drop snatch balances on the next time. If I can get steady on the catch in the hole, I can start moving the weights up earlier than the current schedule.

I have worked out not at all since I stopped posting and it seems I’ve lost almost nothing on my lifts. Power cleans were ridiculously easy, hardly had to bend my knees.
Perhaps it’s because I am so weak that there was nothing to backwardize. But I have been eating well and doing some physical chores (shoveling, toting things, etc) semi-regularly, so perhaps that encouraged the system to maintain the strength levels. Dunno, just happy that’s the case.
Wanted to do more zercher, but I’m so sore that it was a no-go. Db press was surprisingly difficult. Haven’t used those muscles that way for quite a while.
