Yes, bad workers must be punished with even more work.

#1042

Full disclosure: still smoking.

SN
95,115x2
125x1
135 1x3 sets

CJ
165,175x1
185 1x3 sets

Clean + PR
142.5 3x3

FS
230 3x3

Clean High Pull
225 3x3

CGBP
185x5,5,4

HS Near grip Pulldown Machine
some x some

SN and CJ pretty solid. Ho-hum on everything else. Can likely clean the high clean pull weight since I can FS it 3 times.

Nice work!

I’m two weeks to getting back to the oly’s soonest, and watching with jealousy.

SN
95,115,125x2
135 1x5 sets
Power snatched the last two, 2nd pull is improving, but it’s screwing my relearning to catch low.

CJ
165,175x1
185 1x5 sets
Last was best. Starting to relearn how to catch stiff on the jerk and am splitting better.

“Dude, what sort of deadlift is that?”
"The kind men do."
I wish I had said that.

CL + PP
185x1 (tweaked my left elbow dammit)
195x1 (adjusted tech)
170x5 (last two hurt like hell)

SQ
225,250x3
275 3x3
Trying to come up fast and put my feet together all three reps. Jumping basically. 3rd set a bit mushy.

DB Curls
45’s 8x2 sets

Machine rows
150x10
180x8
210 8x2 sets

Nice! Like speed squats but more explosive. I think these would break me.
Get that elbow healed up.
Good work in here.

I had to drop power snatches completely, I just couldn’t start getting under the bar until I stopped doing them. I even did the power snatch + OH Squat thing, but it just wouldn’t go…

Someone actually asked what sort of deadlift your clean was? Where do you work out?

Thought you could sneak that in with no one noticing, eh? What’s your plan?

2013-11-13

SN + HSN
95,115,125 x 2

SN
135.5,142.5,147.5,152.5,155 x 1

SN+HSN
135 1x3 sets

CJ + J
156,175 x 1

CJ
187.5,192.5,197.5,202.5,205 x 1

CJ+ HCL + J
175 1x2 sets

CL+Pr
142.5,145.5,152.5 x 3
157.5,162.5 x 2
167.5 x 1

FS
235 3x2 sets
245 x 1
255 x 1
225 x 5

Knackered and done.

Jerks were horrible and mushy past 195. Interestingly, I was over-jerking, but not splitting enough so the bar would pull down into my hands at the same time I was still setting my base of support. Practice will get rid of that, but it’s disconcerting. Need some abdominal work directly for a bit I think.

SN was pretty good, catching low on most except the top set. Still, still still not finishing my 2nd pull; I can get it high enough but not getting it back far enough.

Since I smoke mostly at work, I think pushups in my office are possible “instead-of” option. I’m thinking of buying a kettlebell and keeping it my office.

#1051

I had a little routine I did once an hour. Push ups, crunches and a set of pistols, just max reps. I always wanted to throw chins or some sort of pull in there as well but never figured out a good way to do it. Door frame lacked the structural integrity required for my weight…

If you can get two stable chairs, a guy can do reverse BW rows for reps. That would be like endurance 60lb db rows or thereabouts.

#1053

All of our chairs are on rollers, but if I get back into I think I will give it a try anyway. What’s the worst that could happen?

You wud get all back-swole and bros would wanna come at you cuz liek your back is so big, but you’re not rilly strong bro, jus swole.

So, be careful.

CGBP

DB Curlses

50s 5x1 (hammer, together)

No SN/CJ tonight. I’ll try to get in tomorrow after work to do those and some rear-side strengthening pulls.

#1057

Right shoulder was way whiny yesterday - which was both a warning and a good sign. Warning to let it rest a bit more and a good sign because some lazy parts inside were got worked and were sore. Feeling more integrated and stronger today. Workout tomorrow and I think it’ll be a good one.

#1058

My ratio of Suck to Rock is not currently in my favor.

I like to imagine the day I’m completely blase about cleaning and jerking 225 lbs. May not happen but I like to imagine it.
