Ankle Weights on Hands?

I was thinking about this the other day. Normally, the lowest weight in the gym is 2.5 lbs. What if you got some 1lb or 2lb ankle weights and strapped them to your wrist while you were doing exercies. This is so you can bridge the gap of weight. I know they have those magnetic plates, but what if the weights are rubber coated? Anyone have any opinions of this idea?

wouldn’t do much in say dips or pullups…

could work in bench and rows…

might as well put the weight on the bar but it is something fun to play with…
