Anadrol and Dieting

I’m interested in opinions on the use of anadrol while dieting. Obviously it’s a damn potent oral and some say an excellent compound to use when seriously shredding. However, there’s also some evidence that it can interfere with lipolysis and further can cause estrogen-relatend fat deposits [at least when gaining mass] because of elevated progesterone. Thoughts?

would help if I could let the vets take this one, I have little to no experience with the compound.

Good Luck~

Bushy? Contrl? Other vets? I thought this would be an interesting dialogue.

The first thing I could see being problematic is the inherent appetite increase that comes with oxymetholone (Anadrol), as well as the relative bloat that comes along with it. Sure, the latter can be minimized with a low-carb diet, but appetite is appetite, and being hungry while having already-low glycogen stores makes it difficult to follow a strict diet.

Many of the other alleged side-effects of Anadrol are pure exaggerations, although it certainly does give me an appetite. I, for one, am not one to insist it be limited to the typical 2-3 week period.

Overall, there aren’t enough drawbacks with Anadrol to dismiss it for cutting cycles entirely, in my opinion. Although there are certainly other compounds which would be less drastic on one’s lipid profile.

Thanks for the input. I could see appetite being a problem. But if it’s really just an issue of bloat rather than actual affects on lypolysis, that could be mediated by controlling salt and carb intake. Regardless, if it helps with the actual fat loss, I don’t see why the bloat would matter so much. It would temporarily obscure definition, but that problem is solved as soon as you’re off.

The bloat was a major problem for a guy I know even though he was taking some Winny too. However, he was not on a low carb diet and not trying to get shredded.[/quote]

Thanks, Push. I find that it is pretty controllable with a a low carb, low sodium diet.

If you can control your carb intake and keep the sodium low on anadrol, you’ll have no problem prepping for a contest.

As far as bloat and water retention gos beyond that, add half as much winstrol ED and that should nicely manage it as well.

Sometimes too, pre-contest, when I’m feeling dehydrated I lose my appetite-- the drol brings it right back and it’s marvelous.

World

I bloat like fook on Anadrol, I get serious water retention.

Personally I would not use it for cutting, instead I would prefer anavar or winstrol for a cutting compound

Ok, well I’ll fess up. I did a short stint of anadrol, winstrol, and var on a strict cutting diet. I didn’t think I really retained that much water at the time, not looking puffy or smooth or anything [and I was controlling sodium and carbs] but in retrospect I think I still must had a decent amount.

I didn’t really drop much weight while on, but my weight was down considerably just a few weeks later, and I was seriously lean. The degree of water retention I had is not bothersome to me. I’m just wondering if the anadrol actually impededed the fat loss because of its lauded estrogenic, anti-lypolyptic properties and the fat loss would’ve been even better without it.

Thanks for the input World and eales

Based on some more evidence, it is my opinion that anadrol DOES lead to some bloat and water retention while dieting. More specifically, it leads to some degree of body bloating and a somewhat greater degree of facial bloating even on a low-calorie, very low carb shredding diet where sodium is reasonably limited. Even with winstrol in the mix.

Of course, this does not mean it’s a bad substance while dieting, especially short-term. But I really can’t see how anyone would use it right up to a contest. But I suppose everyone’s body reacts differently.

Sorry for the late response but I can tell you fact first hand. I have taken oxymetholone on and off for over a decade now. I started taking this compound in Korea and can tell you that it was 100 % legit. That being said the use oxymetholone actually causes you to loose your appetite. Many of my bodybuilding friends take it pre contest just for a short period to really fill up nicely. Of course if you over eat and include lots of high sodium food … you are going to bloat. I still find it to be the best oral for me. Also keep in mind that everyone is different. What works for me… may not work for you. You need to find the right “recipe” that works for you.
PS: Try to avoid using it for more that 4 weeks. One method I found works great is to use it for 4 days on and three days off. It controls the toxicity to your organs. Take twice a day every 8 hours for best results. Good luck. Stay pumped

nice 11 year old bump. Although I agree that 4ish weeks doing preWO only is what works best for me too (I train 531, obviously)
