Amazon Pedophile Book

Would a very graphic and explicit novel (fiction) on the subject of pedophilia and child murder also be on some of you folks’ censor list?
How about a cloth-bound coffee table book containing beautifully rendered Renaissance drawings and paintings of innocently nude children?
What about a book of whimsical line-drawn cartoon kids in sexy situations?

Fuck censorship.

At one point the book Catcher in the Rye was being censored because it contained cuss words and went against family values. Who in their right mind would want it censored now?

John Lennon?

There was a link posted here in a previous thread where a guy was arrested and is serving hard time for downloading drawing of Bart and Lisa Simpson having sex since they are underage characters.

I wonder how many people against the selling of this book also agree someone should serve YEARS in jail for the above

Don’t forget Rebecca Schaeffer

Actually that guy was charged and not yet sentenced (I believe) for confessing to possession of a large amount child porn that included the cartoon stuff. I think that he was a teacher didn’t help him.

The point you make is closely related to my post above^^.

Now our basic freedoms are being removed for owning a cartoon drawing of FICTITIOUS cartoon characters having sex? THEIR AGES ARE A PERCEIVED ISSUE! THESE “KIDS” DON’T EXIST IN THE REAL FUCKING WORLD AND SUBSEQUENTLY HAVE NO DATE A BIRTH!!

What judge permitted that case?

This is SO fucked up!

EDIT: Whew! Thanks Deb for the additional (and essential) info!

You should really read up on before getting all bent out of shape. Speaking of knee-jerk reactions!

Edit; NP  I’d post a link if I could find it.

It has since been removed from their sellers list but Amazon defended their right to sell this book based on an individuals freedom of expression and non-censorship!

Personally I think its fuckin disgusting and they should never have gone near the book!

Censorship yes! But seriously we/they have to draw a line somewhere!

Imagine a book on how to blow up a plane or a ‘how to guide’ for terrorists…
You live in fuckin’ Ireland, you seriously don’t have access to militia material? You can go to any gun show in any American city and find militia how to guides all over from making crank to making home made dynamite to growing weed to make money for your militia to making a gun untraceable.

That’s what I heard, as well. Something about them pegging him with the cartoon porn charge because he was able to effectively wipe his drive of the real shit or something to that effect.

I heard he downloaded it off of limewire, too, and let’s be honest… 75% of the people who use limewire are looking for illegal content (read: we aren’t talking ‘copyright infringement’ illegal). 23% rely on it because they are unable to figure out how to use torrents and 2% use it to download single songs.

100% of the people leaving limewire running with shit in their shared folder are idiots.

He was given 12 months in jail, he was basically convicted because he had a previous record.

I wonder what the author did with his hard drive after his book started receiving loads of attention?

Aw X, this just perpetuates the notion that you disagree with people because you just want a good little fight.

The first thing to help your iconoclastic cause would’ve been to not call worzel a bloody lemming for holding the view that a book on pedophilia is bad.

Your post makes no sense. His personal opinion of a book he hasn’t read is irrelevant. I am against censorship based on differing values alone. I thought I made this clear.

I’ve got Magic Markers.
You don’t know what censorship is then.

Censorship would be when you are forbidden forcibly from saying something.

If Amazon decides not to carry that book anymore, that’s actually the surest example of freedom. It’s their right not to carry that book because they can do what they want without being controlled by the government.

You see? I run circles around you logically.
No, you don’t.

FREEDOM is allowing Amazon to sell whatever books they please without some national backlash that forces them to remove it from their list of sales.

People have the right to buy or NOT buy what they please.
I agree with your general point about censorship but your logic above is flawed. Amazon as a business is perfectly situated to determine if selling a product is in their own best interest based on CONSUMER RESPONSE. Making a “business decision” is much different than censorship. Deciding not to carry a product because you think your business will suffer harm is good business - not censorship. Amazon is not a public library.

Since Amazon isn’t a library or a public institution they should only do what will benefit them financially.

THIS. I missed this before my post.

Just based on the title of the book, it strikes me as a book that is very pro pedophilia. That eliminates the “oh let’s all hug and get a better understanding of pedophilia”

And since when does pedophilia have codes of conduct? Hasn’t morality been completely eliminated once you have sex with a child?

So yeah, burn it!

theres a reason why i cant legally buy an m16.
Should be legal
and theres a reason why people shouldnt be allowed to buy a book on bangin kids.
Should be illegal
so fuck freedom if this is the result.

freedom only rares a bunch of spoilt brats anyways that protest over stupid shit.

We should all be slaves to common sense.
