Amazing Video Footage

I just watched this amazing video of a tribe meeting people from the civilized world for the first time ever. I thought it was quite amazing to see how they reacted to objects(and white pople for that matter) from our “world”.

That is very, very cool. Love this kind of footage.

I love how they appear to try to remove the ‘white’ from his skin, as if it’s paint.

Might as well introduce them to Wii and Doritos and get it over with. Maybe throw in a how-to on the Zerche… nevermind.

I wonder why they knock the back/side of their heads when eating?

This was filmed in Papua New Guinea in 1976, BTW. I wonder how much we’ve ruined them since.

It’s a gesture litteraly meaning “Good”. I found this video on reddit, there is more information in this thread, if you’re interested.

Also found this video(which is a summary of a docu)

- YouTube (FULL docu)

Quote from Reddit:

I believe the correct translation to be “This shit is BANGIN’!”

HAHHAHAHAHA!

Seriously though, good stuff - I’ll check it out later, more work to do right now.

Wouldn’t interacting with them introduce them to possible diseases their bodies wouldn’t be able to defend itself against?

C’mon, it’s not like we’re going to give them small-pox infested blankets or anything…

Man, I would love to see the whole documentary (without the gay Moby soundtrack)

Thought provoking shit, that’s for sure.

Seriously. The footage is great, but I’d rather watch it with the actual audio than this Enya sounding crap lol.

As a Star Trek fan I must admit I saw several flagrant violations of the Prime Directive there.
