Am I On the Right Track?

In my humble opinion, stray away from the glory muscles and just do some squats. I would buy the 5/3/1 eBook–not to use the program because frankly it seems like you wouldn’t get much out of it–but to adapt a new outlook on lifting. Jim Wendler has a great philosophy on kicking ass in and out of the weight room that I find is really helpful for guys who are trying to do everything on your own.

Save yourself the time and don’t try to reinvent the wheel. Do something like Starting Strength or StrongLifts. Train for strength and size will come.
