why is Alavarez (UFC champ) fighting in lower-level show (Bellator)? I assume he signed deal before winning UFC title?

That was Frankie Edgar. Eddie Alvarez fought in Japan and is the current Bellator champ at LW. He’s beaten pretty good guys but has a key loss against Dream LW champ Shinya Aoki. Alvarez is fighting Roger Huerta in a non title bout later this month because Pat Curran is injured. Frankie Edgar will be fighting Gray Maynard who holds a win against the champ at UFC 125.
