With a 405 bench in your future, 6 handstand pushups should be easy for you.

I did 402 with my shirt in November at the worlds. I am gunning for 425 - 450 for my meet in August. 385 x 2, however, is a raw PR. I’ll be gunning for six on handstands. Four has been my sticking point.

Those weights seem reasonable. Stay healthy and keep that mindset.

I continue to torture myself with zerchers. I like it when they get real heavy, and my head looks and feel like it is going to explode.

On a side note I was offered a job with another governmental body a couple days ago. It’s a high ranking job of a large organization. I have lots to mull over, as I have a meeting with the head guy next week. It has inspired me though and I feel like I can lift about anything right now.

I always figured that master’s degree would pay off. Whatever the job is, hopefully no relocation or messing with your lifting. Take your time to make the right decision for you.

Thanks. It was out of the blue. I have not even been looking for a job. We are meeting Monday, but it almost seems too good to pass up.

Today I started a new round of deficit deads. Again I’ll pulling by about an inch and a half deficit for eight weeks. I am figuring by then it will be pre-meet work. I also started using my new stance today. The modified sumo felt pretty strong. I noticed that I am using my hams more, which is not surprising compared to my normal sumo. .

It’s still progress. You’ve probably realized by now that they help your other lifts.

It does. My wife was home yesterday and wanted to know what the loud thud was upstairs. I explained it was just me falling over. She still does not get it…

Crazy day at the gym. First I am really happy with today’s effort. A two rep PR at 390. The second rep was really hard.

Second, there has been this new guy who has been coming in the morning. He is covered in what look like gang / prison tats. On top of that he appears to be unstable. A couple of days ago my friend sent me a text at work and said the guy tried to fight him. Management gave the guy a warning and let him stay. Today my same friend walked past him to get some water. The guy said my friend was “flexing” on him. He yelled at the kid at the front desk, who then went over to talk to my friend. The guy came over and started yelling. This fired my buddy up and they both made threats to go outside and finish it. I ended up getting between them to stop the fight. The manager came and I warned her they need to kick this guy out, because something bad is going to happen.

End the end I think the almost fight got me fired up, which led to my PR. It was fun, but I hope it never happens again.

Boy, that didn’t take long! Way to go for breaking up a fight, then hitting a PR.

Good you’re the “go to” guy to stop a fight between lifters. I invariably assess guys in the gym as whether I’d want them on my side in a bar fight, not that I’d ever be in that position.
