All Nighter Tips?

Would that be a bad thing? (The draggin women thing, not the absence of ID, that is…) I love that little dwarf

Man, all-nighters never worked for me.

About 2 years into college I figured that I got infinitely more work done early in the morning than I ever could by staying up all night. I’d work on something as much as I could until about 10pm, then do something to take my mind off it for an hour or two, then hit the sack. Wake up around 5:30, take some Ripped Fuel or Ultimate orange (back when they were good), then I’d almost immediately be in the zone and could flow for a few hours straight with a lot more focus.

This definitely worked best with actual homework problems or software projects where it was a matter of just figuring out the answer. It was freaky how well my brain would just figure it out while I slept and I’d wake up and just crank the whole thing out.

I was the only person out of my entire circle of friends that operated like that though. One of my buddies NEVER started homework assignments until at least 1am the night before it was due, but then he’d kill it and make better grades than those of us that did it early.

Shitty ass Christmas exams!Hopefully due to some progression in the rugby career I won’t have to sit them, fingers fucking crossed.

Time is going by so quickly. Fortunately I have not tapped into strategic Spike reserves yet and am still going relatively strong.

This is what those Chilean miners must have felt like.

^ What happen Steely did I beat you to it?

Plenty.

I still suggest you get your hands on some nicotine in trans-dermal patch format. It’s under-rated in terms of stimulant properties and as a stand-alone chemical (minus the smoking or dip it’s not terribly detrimental to health).

I hate it when that happens. I always feel like I’m trapped. The most freeing feeling is when you say, “fuck it,” and just go to sleep, lol. I’ve always had this delusion of reprieve, so I always knew that I would have it done by the time it was due. Work was far better quality when I wasn’t tired, and things would always end really well.

Quit smoking. So far so good on that front. Aint gonna risk it. Spike is working nicely tho except for a nasty stomach ache.

Pulling a single all-nighter isn’t hard, but two in a row will be rough.

  1. I’ve got it down to a science. I have two circular LED tent lights from Wal-Mart, $5 each, really bright, I tape them to the windows facing inward behind the curtain about 30 minutes before it gets dark, the glow of the light is very similar to daylight, and since the windows stay bright behind the curtains, it kind of tricks the mind into thinking it’s not night-time.

  2. Get a pack of Bronkaid/Primatene from your local pharmacy, they’ve got ephedrine. I (and I’m not recommending this, informational purposes only, etc.) take 1 25MG Bronkaid, (1) 200mg caffeine, and 3 green tea extract tablets at the same time, the stimulant effect is very powerful, sleep is impossible. Needless to say, not for those who don’t handle stimulants well.

  3. I make sure I have three comfortable, clean/fresh scented outfits available, and I change every few hours. The change of clothes and fresh smell help kinda jolt me awake and keep me from feeling crummy.

  4. I clean everything up before night time, vacuum, etc. The nearly spick and span environment makes me feel productive.

After it’s all over, take a few Melotonin tablets to zonk out.

Wow.

dude, check out the ‘brain function boosters’ threads

Even if you’re not gonna read all 300+ pages (lol), there are ‘beginner stacks’ of nootropics that’ll help you be more productive and retain more information. They’re amazing.

Obviously, you’re not gonna get your hands on 'em tonight, but they’ll sure as shit help for the future.

for some reason chocolate covered espresso beans work like crack on me.
or you could try crack.

Or you could just stay on top of your shit throughout the semester…

This is the pledge I make to myself at the beginning of EVERY semester… this advice doesn’t help procrastinators. Anyway I’ve heard modafinil is great, but I’ve never actually tried it.

‘Present’ Fezzik screws over ‘future’ Fezzik almost continually.

How does this advice not help procrastinators? You procrastinate and it’s a problem? Then don’t procrastinate. Pretty simple advice. You aren’t inherently a procrastinator doomed forever to fall behind on everything only to be forced to resort to exotic techniques that turn you into the Hunter S. Thompson of the classroom.

The best all-nighters were back in my old college days. My roommate and I would work with good music on, bowls of coffee and tons of Subway foot longs. Just being in the presence of someone who was motivated and inspired by Jared rubs off on you. We never spoke much, except for the occasional nonsensical anecdote and as we took our first bite of that BMT.
The best feeling was when we were almost done with our projects just as the sun would be coming up. That tired feeling mixed with a sense of accomplishment was almost delicious as we headed into class those mornings with quality work in our portfolio cases. Unfortunately, I recently learned on an internet forum that art is totally unneeded in society, so those all-nighters were all for naught. I can only stare at my cool avi and dream of the day that my life will have purpose, once I enroll in college algebra.

LMFAO!!!

Best “fixed” post ever!

“I could not forbear to reproach myself for having so long neglected what was unavoidably to be done, and of which every moment’s idleness increased the difficulty.” -Samuel Johnson

I cant take any type of caffine or aderol or shit like that…any time I do I just get really horny and then end up procrastinating even more by looking at FB, Porn, or calling the gf.

Actually I would like some help with that. Is there anything I can take to help me focus that won’t make me want to bust a nut as soon as fucking possible?

And I’m not reading the brain boosters thread…to be honest it overwhelms me…I just want straight forward advice.
