Alkaline Foods for Fat Loss

I have heard that a great way to speed up fat loss is to increase the body’s alkaline state. Doe this mean cutting grains and eating more vegetables? I would be grateful for any feed back on this and if anyone can point me in the direction of any further reading.

I have, personally, never seen any study worth it’s weight in crap to justify any claim to this effect. I’m calling malarky on this theory.
