Aleksander Emelianenko: UFC?

I was wondering if anybody else heard this?

Apperently Aleksander Emelianenko said he’s in negotiations with the UFC to get a contract and move into the heavyweight division (apperently he wants to make a name for himself and he feels he never will with his brother’s shadow over him in pride.)

Good news for the UFC heavyweight division? If this is true hopefullly it happens quick, It would be nice to see some talent.

i see him very rapidly becoming UFC heavy wieght champion if so.

The guy has really improved his MMA since his first fight. A fight between him and Silvia would be great. Silvia is a dick and the current UFC heavyweight division is pretty weak.

I’ve always talked about this as my secret MMA fantasy. How cool would it be to have two Emelianenko HW champions? I think it would go a lot like Anderson Silva’s move to UFC, and he would be champ within 2 or 3 fights.

As for it happening…I’m very skeptical. I read that interview in which he talks about this, and he just said that his managment has talked to the UFC and he would very much like to fight Sylvia, because he is big striker like him and he wants to step out from his brother’s shadow.

I know he was very close to signing with K-1 Hero’s earlier this year, but Pride lured him back so him leaving DSE is within the realm of possibility.

However, the guy was in prison for 5 years for armed robbery, and getting a visa to the US would be very, very hard. They wouldn’t let Hunt in for Pride Vegas because he had an assault charge in California some years ago, Mike Bisping won’t be on the next UFC as as scheduled because of visa issues as well.

This is right on! Aleksander would be able to plough through the UFC HW division.

The amount of money that K-1 and Pride offer their fighters is of a much higher magnitude than what UFC offers their fighters. I don’t see Aleksander moving to the UFC any time soon. I hope that I am proven wrong.

I’ll add, though it won’t be on TV anywhere outside of Europe, Aleksander will be fighting Fabricio Werdum Sunday in Holland at a Pride/2 Hot 2 Handle event (being promoted as a Muay Thai/MMA event with Pride’s help). After beating Kharitonov into a bloody mess at Final Conflict, beating Werdum would clearly establish Aleks as the best of the next generation of MMA heavyweights.

Armed robbery for 5 years eh?
Interesting.

Age 15-20. Also where he got his creepy ass grim reaper holding a baby tattoo. A lot of his tattoos are often associated with Russian mafia members from what I hear. Going to prison at age 15 and coming out just peachy in Russia kind of makes you think he and/or his brother have some connections.

Sooo…by “next generation of MMA Heavyweights”, you mean the heavyweights that aren’t as good as Crocop, Fedor, or Noguiera?

Yes, the up and comers. Guys like Vera, Werdum, Kharitonov who are all young and will take over as those guys retire/fall off.

I could only hope!
I just dont see Xyneice endorsing this though…

That tattoo fucking rocks.

lol pretty sweet. I happen to feel though that not all, but some of these guys always have ties with either mafia members, or the like…cause when it’s big money involved. The bad boys come out lol.

This would sure be cool to see! I’ve only seen this guy in a Pride best knockouts DVD, and that was enough to make me a fan. He reminds me of an enormous Chuck Liddel.

What’s not to love about these stunning looks?

Tattoos
Right arm: Cathedral with five domes: symbolizes five years of imprisonment.
Shoulders: Stars: ?symbolize person?s honor and dignity, they mean that one lives according to his traditions and principles?.
Right shoulder: cobweb: Aleksander did not explain it?s meaning other than say that contrary to what has been suggested by some, it does not have anything to do with mafia. In Russian prisons, tattoos using this symbol typically denote drug addiction.
Left shoulder: Russian script.
Left forearm: Half cat?s head, half skull: ?Homo homini lupus est.? Translated: Man is a wolf to his fellow-man.
Back: Grim Reaper holding a baby: according to Aleksander it?s a tattoo of Holy Mother, and that it means ?absolutely nothing?, he just liked the design.
Back: “Gott Mit Uns”, meaning ?God is with us? in German: for Aleksander, it?s a symbol of revival. This tattoo caused a significant controversy, since this slogan was written on belt buckles of Nazi Germany soldiers.
Knees: Stars: symbolize that the owner will never be brought to his knees.
Pirate tattoo: stands for article 167 of Russian Criminal Code: ?armed robbery?.
?Luck favors the brave? in German: self-explanatory. [/quote]

Hmm, no mention as to what the reverse tramp-stamp means?

He just lost to Werdum, who made it look easy, so maybe the UFC will be in his future.

If anyone wants to make money, bet against a fighter that I talk good about. I’m on a fucking roll here this year.
