AH HAH! Making Whey Easier to Drink

So, i don’t know about the rest of you here at the Nation, but I have a hard time downing Whey protein. For some reason it kinda makes me gag. But what am I gonna do…not drink protein? No whey! (heh)

So I’m in my kitchen having a snack of celery smeared with organic peanut butter when I decide to add a shake into the mix. Nothing fancy, just whole milk mixed with a scoop of GROW! Whey. Usually I have to hold my nose or stop breathing for a little while so I don’t put the protein back in the cup, but something was different this time.

After some deliberation I came to the conclusion that the peanut butter that had glazed my mouth and my throat kept me from being able to fully taste the shake. I downed that sucker no problem.

So, in conclusion, my advice to all of you who have trouble downing a shake is to try adding a little peanut butter into the mix before you start your shake. Good luck to all!! Let me know how it works out for ya!!

Not to hate on Biotest, because I love their shit, but I can’t stand the taste of Grow! Have you tried other high-quality protein; Metabolic Drive, ON 100% Whey, things like that? It tastes great, is easily miscible, and both provide good nutritional… stuff.

I also sometimes make “compromise” shakes. Keep mind I’m on a diet so I’m not too fond of adding things like peanut butter, fruits, and what not to my shakes, but I’ll sometimes take one scoop of Grow! and one scoop of (…) whatever other protein you find to be good.

Yeah, I don’t grow with water straight is pretty bad. I usually mix it in my blender with some Metabolic Drive and peanut/almond/cashew butter.

I drink my surge throughout my workout, then when I get home I make a big glass of chocolate milk with a scoop of grow in it. That’s kinda good.

Metabolic Drive + Grow! is the key.

I actually think Grow! is pretty tolerable, but I hold my nose when I drink shakes. Generally the only thing that works for me is chocolate, and even that has exceptions (I can do Metabolic Drive Complete but not low-carb Metabolic Drive).

So naturally my suggestion is hold your nose…I think it’s a perfectly viable solution, I’ve been doing it for a couple years and it doesn’t bother me.

Oj, ice and vanilla whey…holy crap its good!

Ice, vanilla whey, teaspoon of cinnamon.

Vanilla whey, natural peanut butter/almond butter, ice.

Vanilla Whey, Nutrilite immunity twist tube (strawberry kiwi, or raspberry), ice.

All are pretty good recipes i’ve come up with.

all yous gotsta do is take a big breath… hold it… while pouring the liquid in your mouth… .keeping your mouth open the entire time while opening up your throat to swallow it… i can chug a shake in about 5 - 10 seconds
