Eat for performance, not looks. It’s the simplest way to think about it IMO. fuel your body for the activity you prioritize. If you’re parked all day, you don’t need much fuel, and pooping well is the priority so eat lots of fruits and veggies. If your busting ass all day through manual labor or a big day in the outdoors, load in high quality calories to support your ability for peak physical performance all day.
My meals look very different on the weekends when I put in big days in the mountains vs weekdays when I lift for an hour and sit on my ass the rest of the day.
Follow the food pyramid you learned in school, and get in lots of activity that gets you out of breath.
