I guess im kinda new, ive been lurking and posting randomly since 04 but i rarely have the motivation to log in.
Anyway, this is relative to starting a thread about adventure sports. I know some people have posted about adventure racing in the past, but I’d like to discuss how lifting and strength training is helping or working relative to the hobbies of adventure sports. I know on my last backpacking trip my gluteus medius and minimus got tire on elevation gains, so i started training them harder when i got back. Similarly, my quads burn when I mountain bike and that motivates me to do squats.
Currently I’m training for a half marathon in May, and I know that running that kind of distance is of dstance is cunterproductive to some of the T goals, but it’s another way to challenge me and get ready for some of my other adventures.
