Advanced Operations with Matricies

So this forum seems to be shockingly good at maths.
Here is a problem that i currently solve/find a proof for

why is the sum over the rows and columns of the elasticity matrix of a matrix always 1

elasticity_(ij) =d(dominant eigenvalue)/dA_(ij)

where A_(ij) is the matrix in question.
p.s. I tried squatting and it didn’t help!

solved.

its actually easier than it looks (although i don’t think that thats saying much)

Damn that sounds quite advanced, AS further maths only stretches as far as 3x3 inverses!

Since when did this board become homework help?

I spent all fucking day today with matrices and eigenstates, I come on here for a little light relief and didn’t expect to see more maths.

Never mind off I go to SAMA…

There were a few threads where some guys really helped with slightly more basic problems. As it stands, this was a research problem that has only been solved in the past few years (although the proof isn’t to bad) and it feeds into something I was doing resarch for.

Keep it up with the AS further maths!

You must be a genius…that is what you wanted all of us to say right?

When the hell did we start using the word “maths”?

What next, converting to metric?

Be gone with this shit.

Mods, set up a math forum. Keep these geeks away from the GP.

When we started wearing a pant and a jean.

Mathematics → maths. I don’t see what the problem is.

Pantematic → Pant. Jeanthius Pantheonus → Jean.

No problem really.

Do you read half the shit you say…

You basically want people to think you’re a genius but you come here on T-Nation which is filled with engineers, mathematicians etc… as well as doctors etc…

no one cares

I don’t know if you’ve ever seen someone tell someone else that you know what they want before, but here is the response that everyone gives

“No; that’s not what i want.”

Its true here, and I’m pretty sure every-time one person has said to anther “that’s not what you want/think, you want/think …” its been true.

Have the last word if you like, but I’m not reading or replying to it. In your own words “no one cares”
