Did a bunch of chores around the house and cut the grass this morning, just did a handful of easy squats. This coming week has a bunch of weird stuff on schedule so the workouts will be a little deviation from what little pattern/system I do have. May just ride the exercise bike for a few days and use as a little rest & recovery period.
So there I was standing in a store looking at the beer section… this guy comes up and grabs two different types of beer… one was in purple glass bottles and purple just happens to be my favorite color… well I thought to myself he looks like he knows what’s good so I’ll just follow his lead… I was so excited when I got home and cracked it open assuming since it wasn’t a twist off I got the really good stuff… it was soooo awful!! Never again will I go off of my favorite color when picking beer again it was extremely strong with no flavor just yuck!

Really solid tonight. Had our hospital tour this evening, got home late, just banged through a few front squats, but topping out at an easy 290 double felt good. Should be working at 315 by mid-summer.
Bummer! Gotta be careful picking by the can/bottle…one reason I like places that offer singles or build-your-own-six-pack, gives you a chance to try some new ones without committing to a full rack!
Do you remember the name by chance? I am curious what you had…
Tuesday 5/15
Spinning Bike (20 Minutes)
THEY DO THIS?!? I need to find a place that offers it or wait until I go to Pittsburgh again!! Freakin awesome and a smart way of selling beer I learn so much from you.
I’m not sure what the full name was but it was in a bottle with a purple label that said Columbus on the front. This was for sure not my type of beer!
Not every place does it. I’m lucky to have a place right on my way home that does. I pay a little more per beer but I get that advantage of not having to commit to a full 6-pack of something I’ve never tried. I might pay 12-14 bucks for a build-my-own 6 pack but I only drink 1 beer most of the time anyway, so it all works well.

At home with my dad for today. He wanted to squat so I decided to go along and front squat whatever he was lifting. Not bad for a 62-year-old…
AWESOME good job ActivitiesDad!
+1 for coming up with “ActivitiesDad”
ActivitiesDad got me started as a teen. He was one of those rank-and-file masters PL competitors - did it for fun, because he liked it. His best lifts were a 400-some squat, 285 bench (I think) and 475 deadlift. These days he’s still at it a few days a week, just enough to feel like he’s doing something. He did squat 250 for a couple of triples with little difficulty, not bad at age 62.
