It’s a very first world problem, but this was one of the most exasperating and stressful weeks I’ve had at work. Deadlifting heavy two days in a row is not on most people’s list of recommendations, but this was as much for mental well-being as anything. Squats are okay, but for my money there’s nothing quite as good as crushing a heavy pull to purify the body and soul. The pull at 565 was smooth and I briefly considered one more, but I have to help my brother move tomorrow and decided to save my back a little bit.

Instead, I’m currently soaking in a nice hot Epsom salt bath with a cold brew. The high life, I tell you.

2-Mile Run (20 Minutes)

Just went for an easy jog this morning, followed by several hours of helping my brother move. I’m already feeling a bit on te sore side, I expect to be hurting tomorrow morning.

We get to do this all again in two weeks; our move should be somewhat easier though as we have a lot less stuff than my brother and SIL.

Took it a little easy since I was still sore from moving my brother’s stuff over the weekend. All beltless and (mostly) effortless.

Breezed through a similar DL workout to yesterday’s. I am planning to break the 600 barrier this weekend, then will have a brief interruption to the usual training schedule as we take a short vacation and move to out new house.

Once I get all set up there, I may run a few weeks of the “Daily Dose Deadlift” which I previously found an effective way to retain strength during high-stress times with a low volume of training.

Went up to 525 sans belt, which I’m pretty sure is the first time I’ve gone over 500 on a beltless deadlift. Chickened out a little and decided to add the belt for the last rep of the day.

A nice a light DL day before you go for 600, tomorrow?

How is the house-buying process going? I sign in 7 days for our new place. I’m beyond ready to setup my home gym. It’s been a struggle to go the last few months without lifting consistently.

I’ll be taking a yoga class and relaxing most of the day tomorrow, then probably hammering that 600 pull on Sunday.

We also close in 7 days, and likewise, I am super-excited to have a home gym setup. I’ve still been able to lift consistently thanks to the proximity of our CrossFit gym, but I’ll be much happier with having my own setup in a garage. No dealing with other people, no need to get there at a specific time. I’ll just get home from work, slug down a glass of water or Gatorade, and have some quality time with the weights.
