Weird day. I felt pretty off all day; woke up with a headache, feeling like a mild hangover (I had a hard cider with dinner last night, but not nearly enough for a hangover, lol). Even as I walked to the gym, I still felt crappy, and wasn’t sure how high I would push today. But then 515 went up smoothly, and 535, so I slapped one more pair of 10’s on and hit 555 pretty easily - a little grind, but never a doubt that I would lock it out.

That’s 98 percent of my all time PR on an otherwise blah day. 600 is on the horizon.

Well. How about that.

Probably in two or three weeks. I’ll take it a little easier (staying between 495-545) for the next couple weeks, then maybe the first week of August. That’s right before we leave for a week’s vacation and then move into our new house, so it’s a good time - a natural “end of this chapter” point in life.

House closing is just under a month away now…once we’re moved in, I’ll be setting up my garage gym (barebones at first; don’t need much when 95% of your training is squats and deadlifts, haha) so if you ever get a little time off from Daddy duty, you’d be welcome at the ActivitiesGuy Barbell Club for a workout.

7-Mile Run (64 Minutes)

Been awhile since I ran this far; my wife wanted to run down to “the point” (where the Three Rivers converge in the center of Pittsburgh), and I sorta misjudged the distance from where we parked the car; I thought we would have about a 5-mile roundtrip, but we took a little extra loop that made it a bit longer. Ah well, we survived.

Ten beltless doubles at 405, EMOM, and then just tacked on an eleventh for good measure. Didn’t have a lot of zip today, but after a new 1RM pull on Saturday and long run yesterday, probably should have seen that coming.

That’s one of the longest workouts I’ve seen you post.

You mean Sunday’s workout?

Eh, not really mad, but my wife was in a show this weekend so we went out for a huge celebration dinner on Saturday night. Lots of rich food, dessert, a couple drinks. Figured that I had to work it off a little bit, plus after the heavy deadlift(s) I felt like a few squats would do me some good.
