615 x 1. - Nice work. Your consistent effort with these short heavy sessions is first class mate. How are you finding balancing the training with family and life in general.

Going to use the Wagon Wheels for this week. Get a little different angle, work on generating tension from that height, see if it helps with lockout strength. I rarely go to true “max” in training so I haven’t actually missed a pull in months if not years…but I have noticed that on my heaviest pulls I generally seem to have real good speed to the knees before sometimes needing to grind out the lockout a bit.

Besides, they’re just a fun toy, looks pretty cool to pull with these giant wheels, like I’m lifting a train axle.

I see what you did there lol. I mean in one set for sure!

It was one of those jokes that just doesn’t quite come off online.

On a lark today, decided to try and set a new PR for strapless axle deadlift (most of the workouts I do with the axle, the first 2-3 sets are double overhand, then straps come on for the remainder of the workout, though I’ve gotten lazy about labeling them all). This is the first time I’ve pulled above 500 without straps. In conjunction with my goal of a 700 pound conventional-height barbell deadlift, I would also love to pull 600+ on an axle without straps.

Is that strapless with mixed grip or double oh? Either way that’s a strong fuckin grip you’ve got there.

Mixed grip lol. Most I’ve ever done double overhand & strapless on the axle is like 295! Though I am trying to work on that a bit as well.

Okay, good, I was gonna say, you need to sign up for a strongman event yesterday. You need to do that anyway, but 515 double overhand axle pull would be unreal. No matter what, that’s a hell of a feat man. Definitely shows that straps don’t limit your grip.
