Will accutane affect any of my bulking gains?
I’m not using any steroids but this is the area for drugs and to the best of my knowledge accutane is sometimes used to reduce the acne side affect associated with usage of androgenic steroids.
Basically does it affect any hormones that might then affect my bulking?
No.
Antibiotics would be another story.
I don’t know of any studies and haven’t researched that question, but I finished up an accutane cycle about 6 months ago. I had no problems bulking. In fact, I gained about 15 lbs. during that time frame with most of that being lean gains.
I dont feel that accutane affected my ability to make gains from a hormonal level but I personally struggled a lot with joint pain while on my 6 month course. Many people I know have no problems with this though. It affects everyone differently.
The biggest problem that I had, and this would have been increased by living in Australia, was the sunburn. If you are not careful you can get burnt very badly very quickly. I spent one morning at the beach and wasnt real careful and after that I could only wear shorts for a week as my lower legs were so burnt.
