AACE Guidelines for Treating Hypogonadism

I’m not sure if this report is posted anywhere, but I found it on another forum while doing some research.

AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF CLINICAL ENDOCRINOLOGISTS
MEDICAL GUIDELINES FOR CLINICAL PRACTICE
FOR THE EVALUATION AND TREATMENT OF HYPOGONADISM
IN ADULT MALE PATIENTSâ??2002 UPDATE

I was thinking that something from a recognized organization, like this, might help with the talks with doctors. They seem to like industry publication and guidelines.

I still have to read the entire thing but if anyone else has read it I would like to get opinions.

Very conservative, will limit your treatment options.

Interesting. I was mainly going to use it to try to convince my doc of weekly injects, hcg, and AI. None of which he is prescribing now.

If these guidelines are too conservative, I would be interested to know what source or printout to give to a doc to convince him to be open to prescribing AI and HCG. Something that would be credible from a doc’s point of view. If there is such thing?

I Posted a sampling of some more recent studies in some of the major medical journals. Docs seem to like the journals…unfortunately many haven’t read one since med school.

I posted this under the “Finding a TRT Doctor” sticky…hope it helps.
