Whirlwind trip back to TX to finalize some things, went to my old gym which I’ll miss very much.
60 minutes of taking weight from floor to overhead. 20 minutes snatch, 40 minutes clean and jerk.
All EMOM or E2MOM.

I won’t have access to most of my stuff for the next several weeks, and that stuff includes a sled that will be perfect for this environment.
For now, though, $15 got me this - rope and a tote. Straps would be better, and the tote bottom isn’t ideal, but its something!

Will work on finding a gym this week.

Lookin’ good Brah. Good luck settling in.

Sled is perfect and definitely wining dad points and creating memories for you family. Love it. Several weeks of less stuff seems like a great time to do some burpees and navy seals. Would love to see you knock out 100 navy seals, just be prepared for a sore chest.

Is a navy seal a burpee with an extra pushup?

they are like a 3 pump burpee with mountain climbers thrown in.

Here is @ChongLordUno breaking down the movement

Here is it done at pace

@simo74 i don’t enjoy your suggestion.
But trying them out with 3 of the kids made for a fun minute.
We then (some of us) proceeded to do a round of Sally Squats.

Thank you for sharing that, it made me smile and it was just what I needed to start of the week with positivity. It made me remember what life was like when mine were all a lot smaller. You might need to find 30 mins of peace if you want to do 100 without interruptions. LOL

Yeah that absolutely will not happen soon.
But i found a gym with a day pass i can try in the morning. If i don’t like it theres another one i can visit in the afternoon.
So within 30 hours i should have a plan.

Never forget

Deadlift:
all sets of 5:
135, 225, 275, 225, 225, 225, 225, 225.
Press:
5x5x95 and my right shoulder was screaming at me the whole time.
Pullups: 5x5

GHR - 3x12
Arnold presses, curls, leg extensions.
Maybe some more - about 60 solid minutes.

Tried a gym today, it’s called Powerhouse and it’s pretty hardcore. As in, tons of plates, generally mismatched; Most equipment quite old but no worse for the wear! Machines organized by no philosophy other than Tetris; Not crowded at that time of day. Dingy but suitable locker room accomodations.
The whole place is an optical illusion, way bigger than it first appeared.
I like it.
BUT the big drawback, as gyms go, is that NO DROPPING is permitted - it’s on an upper floor.
So olympic lifting pretty much out.
Location wise? Likely as good as it’s gonna get.
$10 day pass and $40/mo so signing up is a no brainer, but before I commit I’ll check and see if there’s a Crossfit gym I could O-lift at.
Watch this space.

Tried another gym today, YMCA Leeward Side.
I prefer Powerhouse where I went Monday, but I’m glad I checked this place out.
Will probably just get a membership at Powerhouse and do O-lifts at home once I have a home and my stuff arrives.

Squats:
5x135, 5x225, 5x5x185. Hamstrings felt this immediately, started getting a cramp early on which will eventually turn into DOMS - do we call that ROMS?

Bench:
5x135, 5x185, 5x5x155
SS with Chest-supported row, 90LB, 6 sets of 5, and for the 7th set did pullups as someone had taken the equipment over.

No fluff, in and out in 30 minutes, for lots of valid reasons.

Signed up for a year at the new gym (Powerhouse). A plan is coming together. More later.
For today, didn’t have much time at all, this took about 30 minutes:
TBDL 5x5x approx 225 lb. (KG plates. And I’ve never TBDLd before.)
Some pressing. My right shoulder is in a bad condition but I got some loaded movement with it so… box ticked.
GHD.
Some DB BS for upper body.
Monday will mark a new beginning!

New log starting now. New program starts Monday 9/18/2023.
This log has reflected consistent training for 3 years and 9 months, which of itself is something to be proud of. But I’m turning over a lot of new leaves and starting fresh!
