#803

Maybe you are using the wrong kind of dirt!

#804

2/15

warmup, then deadlift 2 x 3 @ 295, 8 x 2 @ 245
stiff leg deadlift 3 x 8 @ 225
barbell rows 3 x 8 @ 225
underhand grip cable pulldowns 3 x 8 @ 70
good mornings 3 x 8 @ 115

Trap is getting better probably from sleep position change. Didn’t notice it after warmup work. Above weights reflect skipping breakfast and lunch yesterday.

#805

if you’re not careful you’ll be down in my weight class !!

#806

Your trap will probably work itself out.

#807

2/16
warmup with 50 kettlebell swings, 35 - 45 lbs

bench press machine 3 x 10 @ 160, 190, 200
pec deck 3 x 10 @ 150
cable cross over 3 x 10 @ 120

shoulder machine 1 3 x 10 @ 90
shoulder machine 2 3 x 10 @ 90
shoulder machine 3 3 x 10 @ 90, 180, 200

preacher curl 3 x 10 @ 90
overhead cable extensions 3 x 10 @ 100

Machine work felt better for trap. 3rd straight workout, light day. No pagan holidays next week to affect workout schedule.

#808

2/19

leg press 4 x 10 @ 135, 225, 405, 495

dumbbell alternating press 3 x 10 @ 35, 40, 45

machine shoulder pullovers 3 x 10 @ up to 210
SGHP 3 x 5 @ 115, 135, 145

cable curls 3 x 10 @ 100, 110, 120
tricep pushdown machine 3 x 10 @ 160, 165, 170

Trap feels better but still going slow.

#809

2/20

kettlebell warmup swings 4 x 15 @ 35, 40, 45, 50
deadlifts 1 x 10 @ 135, 1 x 5 @ 225, 2 x 3 @ 310, 5 x 2 @ 295
stiff leg deads 3 x 8 @ 225
bent over barbell rows 3 x 8 @ 225
reverse grip cable pulldowns 3 x 8 @ 70
good mornings 3 x 8 @ 115

Good workout. 310 and 295 felt lighter, but accessory work was really taxing.

#810

Nice DLs and really good Bent over barbell rows

#811

Yep. Coan does not mess around.

#812

2/22

squats 1 x 8 @ 135, 1 x 6 @ 225, 1 x 3 @ 315 (didn’t break parallel), 1 x 5 @ 295, 2 x 10 @ 245, 225

dumbbell bench 3 x 10 @ 45, 55, 65
cable flyes, 3 x 10 @ machine “325 setting”. Can’t actually be that much.
seated machine flyes 3 x 10 @ 130

I want to get squats up a bit. Maybe 2 x 20 @ 240 or so. I really haven’t tried much volume in past, but it seems profitable for deadlifting.

#813

You can’t beat early morning squats. Or so I have been told.

#814

2/26

leg press 3 x 15 @ 135, 225, 315, 1 x 10 @ 405, 1 x 12 @ 315

machine shoulder press 3 x 12 @ 90, 110, 130
machine pullovers 3 x 15 @ 90, 140, 210

machine preacher bench 3 x 12 @ about 90
cable tricep extensions 3 x 12 @ 100, 120, 120

Trying for more volume w/ less weight.
I’m getting called “sir” in gym again. Jeez.

#815

If someone in the younger generation is showing respect by calling you sir : I would bask in that sunlight all day ! Nice work

#816

Don’t worry, I get called sir down here even when being insulted. Good lifting.

#817

Not enough people say sir these days. That’s the way I was raised, and my kids do the same. It’s respect.

#818

3/15 Anyone can tell I’ve been out of gym going on 2 weeks. Just plain lazy. Kind of feeling like 70 (birthday in 2 months). I’ve been doing 1 x50 pushups in office daily, and I ordered a chinning bar for my garage, which I expect to install someday. Gym, next week for sure. Still trying to straighten out my farmer’s walk bars’ order from New Zealand; order got lost, but not my payment. Finally found their invoice number. I ordered a Viking squat vest from them early last year and it came quick. They’re pretty good guys.

#819

I’m sure you will get back into it. I’m also certain you are more fit and stronger than about 90% of the guys in your age group.

#820

I need to send bribe money for that comment.

#821

One of the gym’s I attend has a pretty mature clientele so I feel confident in saying I haven’t seen many if any 70 year olds, in 2 months doing farmer’s walk and squats with 315. I will say I see a lot of us more mature folks in shape for running and jumping in the Masters T&F meets I enter.

#822

Returning after 7 years, I’m 62 now. How screwed am I?
