6 Week Templates and Rep Records

Does anyone here not up their training max during their 6 week blocks and just try to hit better rep records than the previous 3 weeks? What would be the benefits/drawbacks of this?

I let my 5-3-1 week determine what my training max is and if it stays the same then its time for rep records , but I always push the last set , benefit is get stronger , drawback get stronger.

My training max goes up every cycle, and I go for rep maxes.
