531 & Upcoming PL Meet

So I just nearly finished my second round of 531. This week (week 4) is supposed to be my deload week of 40%,50%, and 60% sets for all of my lifts and little to no acessory work. I just found out about an upcoming powerlifting meet that’s on the 23rd of this month and I want to do it however I’m not sure how I should make everything work together so I don’t suck at the meet. The meet is two weekends away…any thoughts. Should I work around 80% this week and deload next week? Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

You could just repeat the week you just did, then deload the week before the meet

Work up to your meet openers this week, with accessory work as normal and deload next week

295 bench
405 squat
415 deadlift

These are conservative maxes but they are numbers I know I can put on the board.

How would you work up to these in training this week?

For example bench press warm up: bar x 8, 65lbs x 8, 95lbs x 5, 135lbx x 3, 185 x 1, 225 x 1, 275 x 1, 295 x 1 maybe…does that seem appropriate?

I’d say repeat the 531 week and make the top set your opener, just doing it for the one prescribed rep of course. My openers or last warm ups at my last meet were all 85% so it worked out nicely with the 531 week.

Yes thats fine. You could add a couple more reps in if you feel like it -135x5 185x3-5, 225x2, 275x1, 295x1.
