From what I have read in “531 for Football” and in other posts on this site, Jim recommends going with a trap bar deadlift for in-season athletes instead of the conventional deadlift. I assume the trap bar deadlift is recommended for recovery purposes. What would be a decent sub if there was no access to a trap bar? Would power cleans be an OK alternative for an in-season athlete with no access to a trap bar?
