500lb Deadlift @ 198lbs (Horrible Technique...Help!)

Don’t let your arms hang straight down. If you’ll pull backwards with your lats and keep the bar closer to your legs, you’ll DL more with less strain on your back.

Pulling back with your lats pulls some of the load down your back, closer to your hips. Rippetoe teaches trainees to maintain contact with the legs throughout the entire motion.

Very strong lift, BTW.

Form looks good enough to me. keep the arms a little straighter and use more legs but apart from that its a good lift, I would say with better technique and a few pound of of muscle added to your frame a 540 is well within your grasp.
