I was considering picking up the 5/3/1 for powerlifting. I have the 5/3/1 2nd edition and 5/3/1 beyond so my question is how different is 5/3/1 for powerlifting? I’m looking to focus on increasing my bench squat and deadlift and was wondering if this was the best approach as I enjoy training with a powerlifting mindset.
It has a load of extras geared towards powerlifting, theres some parts on programming which aren’t hugely different from Beyond but also a lot of advice around the actual sport of powerlifting i.e. meets, equipment, etc. It’s worth it if this is what you’re interested in. 5/3/1 Forever has a sh*t ton of different programs and up-to-date material compared to earlier books so I would highly recommend buying that.
