While doing 5/3/1 for hardgainers would it be ok if I also added 1/2 joker Sets to the lift for 3 Reps if I am finding the weight easy?
I thought you were planning on running Smolov.
I was but I’ve decided to do a few cycles of 5/3/1 to get all my lifts up first then run smolov once I’ve got a better squat aswell
No you don’t add joker sets to that program. It doesn’t fit in with what that program is meant for. Just do it as written.
When dealing with 5/3/1, if the version your running doesn’t call for them or give them to you as an option its best to leave them out.
They are more of a strength tester rather than a strength builder.
