5/3/1 and Waterbury's PLP Program

Quick question to experienced lifters on Wendler’s 5/3/1…I’ve been doing the Pull up-Lunge-Push up Program for almost 60 days now. It’s a supplementary program that you’re supposed to do in conjunction with your normal lifting routine. Here’s a link explaining it in detail

Should I drop this completely now that I’m planning on starting up the 5/3/1 program?

Thanks, and I really appreciate any feedback.

I’ve been running 5/3/1 for a year now, and honestly, it all depends on your regular workouts volume. But if you are running hte program to increae your bench, squat, dead, and OHP I’d say you are better off having more volume (either on hte main lifts or in direct supplementary exercises) in your workouts, rather than running that PLP in conjunction with it. If you wanna have a bigger bench and squat you are better off training hte bench and squat, not wasting your resources and strength on superficial side exercises that don’t have any direct carryover.

I think it will be a perfect warmup before your 5/3/1 session ! Also do it on your days off it will bump your pushups/chins or pullups number weekly…

Give it a try! Why not!!

Thanks alot, guys. I really appreciate the advice. =)
