What? Horrific? Hardly. Her knees buckle a bit, but she’s backsquatting approximately twice her bodyweight for 10 reps!

[Edit/Pig remark: She’s friggin hot! - YouTube ]

didnt mean to turn this into an argument on her form,

personally id never lift like that or teach anyone to lift like that, you are asking for knee injuries

but its obviously no problem for her and she is very successful so who am I to talk,

as i said very impressive

You aren’t anyone to talk. She went to the Olympics in weightlifting. You’ve been training for 6 months. As far as it being ‘unhealthy’, she likely squats 4-6 times a week with high percentages all over the place, and yet her knees are just fine.

Here’s another guy who clearly has ‘terrible form’ : Naim 190kg Seoul - YouTube

I wonder why they even let him lift…

Impressive? No, that was f**kin awesome.

Very strong.

What a little honey too.

Not bad … needs to stop rolling her knees in … who ever coaches her/taught her is a jerk for letting her get that far and never correcting that.

I’d def. pee in her butt

EDIT: Just read the rest of the thread … here it is … regardless of what she’s accomplished it’s still not good for her knees to roll/buckle like that.

She can get the muscle.

And she has a great porno name. Cara Heads.

T-Nation, the only place on earth where olympians get criticized for their form…

If that knee roll works for her, awesome, but it looks like it will get painful for her…

Regardless, really impressive. She raped that weight.

Someone’s gotta do it :stuck_out_tongue:

lol @ bad form…

cara heads is a beast… its great that she posts training vids.

Shit that’s awesome.

I too was impressed. She is a strong young lady. I was watching her technique. This is not a critizism it is a question. I noticed that mid way up she is leaning a little forward at the shoulders. She then pushes her hips forward to get under the weight more. I noticed that because that is what happens to me toward the end of my reps. Is that normal?
Anyway one day I hope to accomplish that lift too.

wow, a girl backsquats more than me. ouch

Why is it bad? This girl has done more squats in her life than the participants of this entire thread combined - don’t you think that if it was bad, she’d be dealing with knee injuries?

Cara Heads is an Olympic level weightlifter - this puts her among the best in the world. She is more of an expert at moving weight with her body than most of you will ever be at anything. Further, she has worked with some of the best coaches in the country. Again, don’t you think its a little presumptuous to second guess them? Full squats are an integral part of any olympic lifting program, and if she was doing something that was tremendously wrong, its a pretty safe assumption that one of her coaches would have fixed it.

Moreover, this video has her backsquatting 2x bodyweight for 10 reps! I doubt anyone on this thread can do 320x10 for full squats as it is. She squats the way she squats for a good reason, and I promise you that it works for her.
