2nd strongman meet

Had my second meet yesterday, did alright; but it was a pretty cheesy meet, fun but cheesy (only 2 events).
DB carry (120’s): 100 meters in 60 sec
Tire flip: 38 meters in 60 sec
Lessons learned, need more work on grip and need work on farmers walk,
and get back to states for a real comp.

Anyone have some ideas on how to improve these events?  Also should I replace my bench workouts with over head pressing?  I think this might be more event spacific.


Why would anyone be Bench pressing in order to get better at strongman events?

There are overhead lifting events, such as the log press etc. Personally, I have never seen a strongman event where someone lays on their back to see how much the can lift…

By all means stop benching!
