218 lb Squat for 98 Reps

No shit. Check this out:

Thats not really anything. At our gym we had a guy do 3/4 his BW on squat, he repped out multiple sets ranging from 30 - 3 until the total was 1million pounds.

Its a real test of strength and endurance. I have not gotten on the board yet, but I hope to make it soon.

Ever heard of Zoltan Molnar. 220 lbs X 170 reps at 170 lbs bodyweight in 9 min.

If he used 300lbs (if he weighed 400lbs ;-)) it would take him 3333 reps. I’m calling BS.

You guys amaze me. Look @ the fucking video. That man works his ass off squatting for several minutes, 98 reps with 218 lbs, which is remarkable. How can any of try and take anything away from that? This tape aims to inspire us all and show a great clip of strength, endurance, determination, will power, and hard work. Appreciate these things, don’t hate.

I’ll second the bullshit call on the 1 millions pounds. Unless he took a week to do it.

As for the video, it’s somewhat impressive. It’s a bit like an EDT workout without racking the bar.

98 reps in 9 minutes comes out to 11 reps a minute. Not putting in back in the rack during the pauses must be the killer.

I’ll bet the DOMS was interesting in the next few days.

I am going to do something crazy like this someday. I feel I have the lactate tolerance and endurance to do this type of thing.

It would have been more impressive if the guy didn’t take so many breathers in the last half. still looks damn hard

That is pretty badass, fellas. That guy has some endurance. If you want to see another impressive squat clip, check out this video with Tom Platz doing 500lbs for 23 reps.

98 reps??!!

I don’t think he’ll ever want to squat again

I would have to agree, haha. Wow, is all I can say. Makes me feel pretty wimpy squatting a whole 85 lbs 8x5. Maybe if I stop saying I hate squats the whole time I’ll get better at it.

I don’t know which is worse-the 98 reps of the lunacy of trying to get BACK UNDER the bar to finish the other 2!

I have nothing but admiration for that guy! 20 rep Squat sessions usually kick my butt.

And I thought I was crazy…

That video kicks ASS! And look at that guy’s gym - Rock climbing wall, trap bar, sound system, Nice oly platform, uprights - paradise.

The guy (he goes by “Sarge”) says his max squat was 220 three years ago, when he started.

The challenge was to see how many times he could rep his old 1RM max.

Impressive! I’m not a high rep guy at all, but last year my brother and decided to squat our bodyweight as many times as our age that year. I turned 27 at a bodyweight of 255, so I squatted 255 27 times. I thought that was decent at the time (my max squat is 450 lbs.) but now I’m not so sure. I hate high reps, though.

That’s a really cool idea as far as motivation is concerned. I know it’s really cool to look back in my training notebook and see I’m doing 20-rep deadlifts with what my 1RM used to be.

I’ll have to check the board, but it has been done. I’m heading out there tomorrow night, so I’ll post later.

And he does 1207 pounds for reps in the squat
