Well you would have to say something like.

Marino was a MUCH better HOF QB than Joe Montana
Or Emmitt Smith was a much better RB than Barry Sanders or Jim Brown
or 2000 Ravens Defense was better than 1985 Bears Defense

Rookie

What about them Bucs?

I have seen all the SB’s. What were you 10 for that one?

Tampa had a good run with Lynch, Sapp and Brooks but they were not even close to the 85 Bears.

Clowney, period. Boy can flat play.

Playing OL can be fun as hell. You get to beat the hell out of the guy you’re assigned to block every play, all day. You don’t have to worry about finding a ball carrier, or whether it’s run or pass (since you already know), you just have to beat the fuck out of the dude across from you. It’s all in how you approach it.

There are some nasty motherfuckers playing O-line.
Joe Thomas would give clowney something to think about. But he is also a 6 time pro-bowler and imho the best left tackle in the NFL.
Lol, I remember when Joe Thomas was drafted by Cleveland.

He was out salmon fishing with his dad. Pretty cool.

I agree with you though, Joe Thomas is a guy who could handle him, and probably will have to meet that challenge in the near future. But C’mon, I have to believe that any NFL OL sitting on the couch watching that game Tuesday peed himself a little bit, and running backs across the league who saw it spontaneously shot a snot bubble out his nose.

Okay, hypothetical scenarios and all -

Jonathan Ogden vs Reggie White. Who wins the most times out of 10 on a 5-step drop-back, and why?

(Feel free to sub with Orlando Pace / Willie Roaf - LT / Bruce Smith / Deacon Jones, etc.)
I think Art Shell and Anthony Munoz could be included in this list too. Not to mention the Hawgs from Washington as well.

For DL’s I remember the Redskins had a pair of bruisers in Manley and Mann back in the day too. But overall there’s a pretty short list of dominant DL’s who made folks shiver.

and LOL at Deacon Jones’ head slap. Man he was a mean motherfucker. My Dad was a big LA Rams fan because of the fearsome foursome

He used to have a hunting and fishing show on the local television station as well. Pretty cool dude.

I think RB’s and QB’s would be the ones shitting themselves more than the O lineman, considering theyre going to be ones getting tackled.

The thing is tho, that nobody ever notices when the Oline does well against a pass rusher, but the one play they get beat on makes all the highlight reals.

Show of hands who played OL in HS or beyond.

Same here. Went both ways

That hit was straight up nasty. I’m a diehard Michigan fan but even I was impressed by that hit. I did think Lewan had been handling him fairly well for the majority of the game though. Clowney is not unstoppable but he certainly is a tall task for anyone to handle.

Lets keep in mind Vincent Smith is a very small dude in terms of football standards, he’s a backup running back following a back up fullback. I’d like to see Clowney manhandle the fullback that just left Stephen Hopkins like he did Smith, pretty sure it wouldn’t have looked near as impressive.

These huge d-lineman with there speed and athleticism is simply amazing to watch. Imagine what the guys in the past would think if they had to play against a freak like that.
