Yep, Mariusz has plenty of absolute strength. He never finishes last in any of strength events and often wins deadlift-and-log lift-type events. He’s mentioned that the Fingal fingers and the Hercules hold are his worst events, which is what the comp started with this year. His father was an olympic weightlifter, so I would imagine that his agility and explosiveness stem from the type of training he’s been doing since early childhood.

Well, here is what Mariusz’s biceps looked like 6 weeks before he won the world’s, so he arguably wasn’t even in top form at the competition…certainly not for the Hercules hold.
