200 Meter World Record Broken

Thanks Vader for finding the link. Bauer, normally you’d be right but I’ve got a crack staff on my side. TK you son of a bitch, I’m gonna get you sooner or later. Knibb high football rules!

Incredible. I’m speechless over those 2 races. He’s only going to get better too.

However, I was pretty annoyed he didn’t acknowledge his competitors or shake hands with them after the race before launching into his over the top celebrations. Don’t get me wrong, it was over the top but as far as I’m concerned after running 2 races like that he can do what the fuck he wants by way of celebration but do it after acknowledging those you raced with.

He’s young.

Did anyone else think it was incredibly low class of NBC to interview Spearmon right after he found out he was DQed? The guy celebrates second place only to find himself DQed and they go harasss him? Do they have no standards?

He was waiting for the rest of the field to finish!

You know how it is, cross the finish line, celebrate, do a victory lap, an interview or two… then go meet the other guys coming across the line.

Yes, that was one of the most awkward interviews I’ve ever seen. I don’t remember who the NBC anchor was, but he handled it terribly.

NBC: ‘You were walking around celebrating a silver medal, and now you’re DQ’d. You stepped in Dix’s lane, how do you feel?’

Spearmon: ‘I didn’t know I stepped on the line…’

NBC: ‘When did you find out you were DQ’d?’

Spearmon: ‘Right now… I don’t know… we’ll see… I didn’t realize I did it. I guess I’ll protest?’

NBC: (laughing) ‘Protest!? You think you were okay in that race??’

I was squirming in my seat watching that.

I am glad I didn’t see that.

Remember when that assclown Jim Grey harassed Pete Rose?

I hate the whole concept of sideline reporting.

Since when do journalists have standards?

MJ even said himself Bolt would beat his record, and was even in the crowd cheering him when he did. 19.30 is crazy fast, if he doesn’t beat it again himself, it will likely stand for a long time. Johnson’s record was said to be one of the hardest one’s in the book to beat. Great race.

‘That’s not the way we perceive being a champion,’ Rogge said in an interview with three international news agencies Thursday. Rogge says Bolt should ‘show more respect’

Arguably, Usain Bolt is one of the best things to happen to the Olympic Games and has more charisma in his left toe than the corrupt IOC Committee could ever could muster.

But is he taking it a bit too far?

Ps His performance is estimated at $100M in endorsement deals.

That interview was pretty bad. It felt like they were kicking him while he was down. What were they expecting Spearmon to say?

…and Jim Grey has always been an assclown. I can’t stand that guy. He’s an embarrassment. Some say he asks the tough questions, I think he’s just too stupid to know when to keep his mouth shut.

In Jim Greys defense, no one is as big of an assclown as Pete Rose, so maybe he was trying to step his assclown game up to match what Rose brought to the table.

Bolt’s only 21 right? Barring injuries, he’s gonna destroy all of his own records and set them on a shelf that won’t be reached for a very long time.

I thought they said last night that he turns 22 today. I agree though, I can’t wait to see what he does in the next two Olympics.

Thanks. The point I was trying to make is he’s incredibly young to be doing what he’s doing. His best years are way ahead. I like track, always have and if it was on I’d watch it but I’d never actively pursue a track event. This dude will change that for me, and I assume alot of other people. His stride is so effortless. He looks like he’s gliding while everyone else is straining.

Oh, oh…

Could WhiteFlash be the first?

No White Person Has Ever Broken 10 Seconds in the 100 Meters

I thought 2008 would be our year. I really did. After all, if a black man can be elected President (hopefully), then a white person could break 10 seconds, right?

But the 100 meters came and went and once more the fastest white man in the history of the universe remains some guy named Marian Woronin from who ran a 10.00 flat forty years ago. (That’s him in the picture–the fastest man our race has ever produced.)

Since then the closest we’ve come is Australia’s Matt Shirvington and Nic Macrozanaris of Canada. Both men came within a few hundredths of a second of breaking 10.

Guess where Marian Woronin and TKO are from?

Maybe the best quote of all time:“We see the white sprinters lining up to race and, before anything even happens, we know exactly what Asian men feel like when they show up to audition at porno shoots”.

Maybe that journalist will get caught interviewing a protester or something. One can only hope.

Not that wiki is peer reviewed, but apparently he did break 10. I’d like to know how in approx 30 years we haven’t really progressed to produce a faster time though, especially judging from that guy’s pic…doesn’t really look like a sprinter to me.

“His fastest time of 10.00 in the 100m was rounded up from 9.997 seconds, thus giving him the distinction of being the only white sprinter ever to run under 10 seconds for the 100 metres, albeit unofficially[1]. He is one of two non-African or African descended sprinters to run 100 metres in 10.00, the other being Koji Ito. Patrick Johnson, an Australian sprinter who is ethnically half-Irish and half-Native Australian, recorded a 100m time of 9.93 seconds.”

9.997 or 10 is still way faster than me.

But how much faster is faster?

If in drag racing each .1 second is equal to one car length what is the sprinting equivalent?

I would like to see an article on the state of doping in 2008. Maybe it’s time for a follow up with Charlie Francis!

I wonder what Charlie’s takes are on those ridiculous times that have been produced over this past year. Those Jamaican sprinters are running those times like it’s nothing. All the talks about the Ben Johnsons, Maurice Greens, and Michael Johnsons are now a thing in the past. The world of track and field has officially shifted in its paradigm. I swear those Jamaican sprinters are aliens, or human/alien hybrids, or at least genetically altered.
Maybe they came from an other dimension. Like the greys.

It’s not hard to see that he could some day challenge the WR with this type of progression.

LMAO… He only started racing the 100m a year or two ago!!
And now he’s the world record holding, gold medalist from 2008, not bad for a 200m specialist. So yeah, i guess he has some potential.

He’s also the first tall, 100m winner ever i think. Supprising he’s so explosive off the mark considering this disadvantage.
